Not a bad way to spend the afternoon

Went to walmart and spent $30 on a cheapo rod/reel and a little starter kit. Drove down to the river near my place. Even though I haven't the slightest clue of what I'm doing, managed to catch (and release) this little guy.

Brought the dog too. He hates baths, but jumped into the river without hesitation. Go figure.

Spent a good chunk of time untangling line, but ended up being a really relaxing afternoon.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

I'm just thinking how much better I could've done if I didn't have a 55lbs pit mix splashing around trying to chase down the ducks and cranes over on the other side of the river, or any piece of driftwood that floated by.

My parent's dog (actually my dog) is the same way about water. Hates baths with a passion and will fight as hard as she can to get out of it, but take her to the forest preserve and you couldn't keep her out of the water if you tried

She's either a rot/lab mix or german sheppard/lab mix.
