I finnally got everything to reinstate my card since it expired. I will should be out shooting with you guys in about 5 weeks. Crossing fingers, Hoping it doesnt take longer than that.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

From what I understand you do not need a foid card to shoot, only to transport and own a gun.

Ya you can shoot with someone else who has a card. just cant do it on your own. I've had a card for years. But mine expired so I've been out for a little while.

What about the hunting rush? Is there a longer wait because of that? Isn't the usual turn around time about a month? Sean, you can go to any sporting good stores and pick up an app... You have to have a picture, and then send it in. Is there an easier way guys?

If you have not done it yet the easiest way is to go online and print out the form, (if you have a digital camera) take your own pic, resize it and attach with your check. or go to the mall and have a pic taken in those booths.

Way to go Tony! Now we will break ya in easy with pheasant hunting next year. I go to a great spot and if ya like it we should organize an elk hunt in wyoming or something. It is awesome!

More and more places that I've gone lately won't even let you onto the range unless you have your foid card. I'm guessing it will be like everywhere by next year since they said they have been getting a lot of crap with everyone on their "gun control" cruisades.

That would be cool. I haven't had pheasant in years.

Although I've never gone hunting. Starting on some birds would be a good start.

I don't know how it is now but when my buddy applied for his FOID card about six months ago, GAT guns said it would take 12 weeks since Blago had half the staff doing FOID apps take the early retirement. It took about 10 weeks to get his FOID. Hope you get yours faster.

I did but he is too much of a Master dog. By that i mean the gun does not bother him at all and the birds he carried back great but he would not leave my sight. Everytime he would lose sight of me in the weeds he came FLYING back to me.

You should bring your pup and i will show you how to train him. NOW is the time. Or slowly get him into it. If i get a bird i will cut the wings off for ya to train him.
