My 1911 Love Affair Continues

Ever since I shot my first 1911, my love for them has never waivered. My first was a Kimber Pro Carry. Then I traded it up for a Kimber Tactical Custom II, which has been my mainstay since...

And while the Kimber's treated me well for a number of years... it wasn't the penultimate 1911 for me.

And today's acquisition takes me another step towards reaching that...

I love having a choice.

Thanks Ken!

Nice. Now you can shoot both at the same time like Chow Yun Fat

I fell in love with 1911s the first time I shot it as well. I feel like I can compete in olympic shooting events with one

Just ordered a Blade-Tech custom holster that'll fit the with Streamlight M6 mounted on it, and a Comp-Tac holster for use without the M6.

And now I'm looking at custom grips just to dress up the TRP Operator a bit and make it fully my own.

Looking at some Buffalo Horn grips like these:

But to make it fully personalized, adding hand-engraved dragon seen here:

Others on the 'net seem fairly satisfied with this fella's work. Looks pretty solid to me.

LOL - grips are subtle & removable.

Besides, after taking a closer look at the current grips, there's a bunch of your old dried jizz stuck in the nooks and crannies. Don't want to go to the effort of removing it all with a dental pick!

I had to call the Blade Tech in, as that's a custom order (to accomodate the M6). That'll be several weeks.

The Comp-Tac ought to show up sometime next week (it's in Production as of Tuesday... est. 5 business days).

I bought an MTAC about a month ago for my G19 conceal carry when on the road, fucking brilliant holster.

So with a FS 1911, could one get away with something like the Infidel Shirt Tucker strut? Do I really need all that leather paddle on an MTAC with two clips for an IWB holster? That thing looks huge.

Realistically, I wont carry every day, so something that I could just quickly tuck in a wasteband would be better for me.

Unfortunately, Comp-Tac doesn't make an MTAC for the TRP, only the CTAC, which is still a rocking holster.
