Interest in Larry Vicker's Tactical 2 Day Pistol Course

Kicking around the idea of hosting Larry Vickers and doing a 2 day tactical pistol course.

Cost would be $475 for two days plus range rental fees. Range and date TBD. More than likely this would happen in the first or second quarter of 2011. You would need 800 rounds, 3 to 5 magazines, and electronic ear protection (preferred). You can get a rough idea of what the course involves from his website. In Larry's words, he tailors the course to meet the level of the students and doesn't follow any concrete course schedule.

We need 10 people minimum and 17 maximum. Once we firm up a date and location I will ask for non-refundable deposits to reserve your seat.

Here is Larry's website (read his biography if you unfamiliar with him): http://vickerstactical.com/

Why am I doing this? Well, I recently sold him a rifle and part of the trade was two seats in his single day pistol course. Jenkow and I were going to fly out to NC and do this at his facility. I've spoken to a couple folks at my office about it and they expressed interest as well so I thought about having Larry come to us. By hosting this I get two extra seats in the training. I will be covering all of Larry's travel expenses (airfare, lodging, rental car, and food). My only true gain in this is the 2 extra seats in the course. Ultimately it will end up costing me because of the expenses.

So post up if you would be interested.

You could put us down for 2, and possibly a third.

EDIT: make that possibly 4

I'm interested.

I just skimmed through his course listing:

I presume what he'll be offering you will be a customized package. But do you have a general idea of where it'll fall? As in what skill level would this course be geared towards? Beginner, intermediate, advanced? Can you give us a better idea of what topics you'd have him cover? Etc?

Yeah just as an update We'd only be interested in the course if it's at the min. a intermediate course. Two Navy SEALs, One LE SRT Officer, and One 8 year LEO... not much needing the beginning course.

I've sent an e-mail asking how he would handle the wide range of experience levels. I'll update you when I get a reply.

Thanks for your interest!! I hope we can make this work out.

You can't think that way. titles mean nothing as they do not truely convey how much time and enegry, or lack of, someone has put into something.

Don't beat yourself down b4 you even put up a fight.

From Larry:

"My normal procedure is to acess the skill level of the class and tailor the instruction to best suit the needs of the students

My teaching style and drills will bring out lessons learned for everyone , regardless of skill level

Bottomline basic to badass you will definately get something out of my class - I guarantee it

Hope this helps

Larry"

I am at a trade show in Indy for the rest of the week with limited internet access.

Also, as a side note, this class will have a lot of different skill levels. My wife and I will be there and we are as beginner as it gets. So don't think this is going to be some super-dooper ninja only class. lol. If anything, as a beginner or even intermediate level, we'd stand to learn a lot more with that level of experience in the class.
