$220 for an M1, even beat to hell is awesome.

These will be what the SKS was 10 years ago, only a hell of a lot cooler.

I bought one for my father last year, 1943 original w/ a 348,XXX serial IIRC, super cool Nazi killer that actually saw service and may have smoked some Krauts.

I will absolutely pick one up if the price is right- en blocs FTW!

Lets hope prices actually do come down to that $220 range. I'd buy a few, and learn to refurbish them.

For whatever reason, you can't adjust the thread title after it has been posted. Only mods have that power- pretty dumb IMO.

It'll read above the first post, but the new posts screen or whatever will only show the original wording.

Oh hey, I smell another religious war brewing... the role and utility of carbines & sub-machine guns vs a battle rifle and/or assault rifle.

Even if their utility isn't as... flexible & practical as a modern rifle, M1's are still definitely beautiful pieces of history!

I'm just talking shit about the M1 carbine, they're fine for what they are, just wish they used a more powerful round or the .30 carbine round had been more widely accepted. Ballistically it's almost identical to the .357 Magnum, powerful enough at close in but falls off quickly. Nevertheless, cool rifles, just not my scene, ignore my shit talking.
