Megasports

I went shooting at Mega today. The range guy asked what calibers I was shooting. I start telling him and when I get to .44mag he tells me they no longer allow .44mag and larger calibers on the weekends. He said "it's too busy on the weekends and too many people complain about the noise." Who the hell goes to a gun range and complains about the noise!?

Yeah that seems lame. I wouldn't have the balls to go to a range officer and say "you know it's really loud in that shooting range.."

Although, I could totally see the Naperville pussies that go there go up to the store owner, who they probably golf with on Wednesdays and say: "I'm trying to concentrate and practice, and that tool with the DE .50 is blasting me with shockwaves of his completely unnecessary over-compensating Hollywood toy"

By the way, the tool with the DE .50, would totally be me...unloading mags as quickly as I can without the RO tapping me on the shoulder.

Ryan, maybe it's time to breath the bad air over at Rinks.

If I had a million dollars and a few years to litigate, I'd totally open up a nice big indoor range in Bolingbrook. There is plenty of room by Bass Pro where Target was supposed to go (and I heard rumors that Abt might open up).

I was shooting .45acp also. He said that's fine but no .44mag. I don't know if .357mag is allowed since they can be loud too, didn't think to ask. My .44 reloads are pretty light but I wasn't going to try to argue. They actually ask what caliber you're shooting now and it looked like he was writing it down on a list. I like the range at Megasports too, guess I'll just avoid it on the weekends and go to Rink's instead.

No, but Brianne totally wants that one, or the big purple one (titanium nitrate coated I think).

Mine is an '80s vintage DE .50 that's rusted, the frames been cracked and rewelded, and a big honking rail added to the bottom of the frame. It looks very Beyond the Thunderdome.

I'm seriously thinking about taking it to Gus to have some ports milled in it, and maybe having spikes welded to it or something. Instead of fixing it up, I'm totally going with the post apocalyptic DE.

parking lot and retail space expansion. The board voted on it in 2010 I believe and it made the news in teh plainfield yearly town news in 2011.
