I figured I should order a spare lower.

Then I figured, Might as well order a couple extra,
Then I figured, Might as well build them out.

going to do 300BLK and a .22 out of two.

Maybe do a 458 with the last? hehe

Noveske lower on a .22... waste of money.

Nice lowers though! The 300 has been on my short list for a few months now.

Gus,

Those are the "lower receiver" which is the actual firearm as defined by the ATF (has a serial number etc)

AR15 are like the Legos of guns. You buy a quality lower receiver, buy the Lower Parts kit of your choice, and the stock/grip of your choice, then a couple quality magazines, and this is the base for a quality "upper receiver" that you buy fully assembled or build up yourself. Since the lower receiver *is* the firearm it needs to go through an FFL, but the upper receiver can be shipped directly to your door.

Assuming the lower is "milspec", most any upper receiver can be dropped right on top in seconds, and without tools.

And these that Firebretha posted happen to be some really high end lower receivers.

As PH stated, most lowers as long as they are in spec funtion the same. It is nice if you can splurge on the ones with a better aesthetic finish and "upgraded" designs.

Maybe not but at 2/3:1 in cost fuck teh flair. Learn to reload vietnam style. lol

Also something to take into consideration is the fact that there are about 5 actual manufacturer that make lowers. They are just putting someone elses name on it. No your Noveske and brand XXX might actualy be made in the same place by the same guy guy.

Arrogance has to be earned.

Agree with all of this.. although with billet becoming more popular places are carving them out themselves.

I never had any trouble reloading any of my non-flared. I have 2 Noveske Gen II lowers, and I don't notice arcs of electricity flying from my hands at the lightning fast reloads.

PSA started offering 300 AAC uppers; barrels are chrome lined, hammer forged M249 steel w 1:8 twist courtesy of FN I think. Temping.....

Does gas system length make a difference in 300 AAC?

Spikes blems were in stock in Aim couple days ago for $69. I had to restrain myself!

Spikes billet lower is yummy as well, but at $249 - eh, I will pass.

no new AR in 2012! I keep repeating it to myself
