I like the lower rate for the second shooter same lane idea. Thanks for pointing this out.

I'm surprised that they don't allow .357 mag or .44 mag on the pistol range :o(

Expensive, but GAT sucks.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

Yeah, I suppose your right.

And I get upset when I go to ASC and only two whole ranges out of 7 are completely empty and available for my group to take over. LOL

If your a dedicated shooter ASC's yearly membership makes sense, but for once in a blue moon group, GAT's is kind of a dump, and this place isn't far from them. $5 extra for a possibly nicer environment might be worth it.

I definitely want to check it out.

I did some quick math for the rifle range and it seems like the "average Joe" membership for $250 and a 10-pack of sessions plus 2 more visits would cost more per visit compared to their non-member pricing if you go once a month for a year. I know there are other perks that are included with membership, but you'd have to go a lot or justify paying more for the perks.

I know one of the owners of this place and i specifically asked him about caliber restrictions on the hand gun range. He told me they didn't have any restrictions on hand gun calibers. I shoot mainly wheel guns 38spl - 454 so I will have to ask him again.

GATs has never charged me by the hour before...is that something new, or maybe it's just because I used to hit GATs when they weren't busy. I could spend all day there for $20.

Its always been their policy, but I don't believe they enforce it all that much. I would expect the same from most other ranges.

On Target

I stopped by yesterday just to check it out. Big (long) building because of the shooting range. 50 yard rifle range on one side of the store and 25 yard pistol range on the other side. $25/hour but if not busy they'll let you stay a little longer (5 minutes). Range officer will let you know 5 minutes before your time is up. Also they have half hour range time, for people who want to sight their scope or whatever. Only factory load ammo (no reload, no surplus, no steel or lead bullets) is allowed. You can rent pistols and rifles, I think they said $15. The only plus that I can think of regarding the shooting range is it's well ventilated and very clean (for now). A little bit on the high side on gun prices but accessory prices are fair.

If ya go in during the week when their not busy they don't care how long your there. Its on the weekends when they have a huge line of people to shoot. I like GAT. Their close to my house and they just remodled the entire range. Lighting is good and so is the ventilation.

A busy range? What's that?

Last night Firebretha and I went to ASC after work. The RO drove by, said "Be Safe" on his way out, and we had about 100 acres to ourselves. It was weird, cool, and fun.

For $560 for the first year and $280 each year after that, I would expect that kind of treatment and trust. Membership clubs have their advantages.

Again, if your going to shoot enough to justify membership, ASC is the way to go.

Yeah, I didn't shoot enough last year to justify it; I think I paid $635 to go 6-7 times! Though when I did shoot, it was an 8 hour event. Lots of shooting, break for lunch, moar shooting, then out for burgers and beers at the Pub West.

This year I'm planning on going 40-50 times since it seems I'm going once or twice a week. Totally worth it now, especially with all the brass I'm picking up with the brass mower.
