Once Fired US Military Brass

This is just a feeler to see if there is any interest - I may have about 1500LBS (not rounds) of both 5.56 and .308 that I could break up if people were interested. This is US Manufactured US Military Brass once fired Boxer Primed. This will be available for local pickup only, as I do not want to bother to try and sort and ship all this brass.

If there is anyone interested in obtaining some, I will seperate some out for those that do. The rest is going to scrap, as I am not hauling it all back. I will need to know before May 4th, and if the deal falls through from the seller I will let everyone know in this thread. I will only sort this by the pound at scrap rate $1.75 - .25 = $1.50 per pound. A five gallon bucket holds about 40 LBS.

I'm located in Elgin, IL and i will only do FTF transactions at my residence as I am already going to have to transport it to my home at my expence if I do this.

Thanks for looking,

Devil Dog

Berdan Primed? Not terribly useful unfortunately.

If it was boxer primed, I'd take a bunch off of your hands.

Can you verify what this brass is exactly and the type of primers?

Yeah, I've already PM'd him, figure I'd pick up 3 buckets worth and that there would be some others interested. I could pick up a bucket for you since I'm driving up there.

Ok I have some more info:

7.62x51 Boxer Primed Brass - Casing head stamp is FC 07

5.56 Boxer Primed Brass - Initials on bottom of casing is LC 05

I may have about 230 LBS of 9mm casings if anyone was interested?

I think what I may do here is have those that want in on this to drop off 5 Gallon Buckets (plastic only please) marked with their full name and number on the bucket. When I get back I will let everyone know so they can come pick up their buckets. If I could get this all back here it wouldn't be so bad, but it is alot for me to get back here.

Ok I have had a bunch of e-mails and IM's with info that I want everyone to have the answers to:

1. I will not know if I have this brass until the 8th of May, I WILL NOT make any arrangemants until after I have the confirmation.

2. The brass is seperated by caliber in it's own cases. The rifle brass is 2200LBS for each caliber.

3. I am not cutting any side deals for less money than what is posted, you are already ahead if you just scrap it so DO NOT ASK FOR A CHEAPER PRICE!

4. The brass is US MILITARY RANGE BRASS, this means fired once then policed at the range and stored in containers. The brass is stored loose, and some may have dents dings ect.

I will answer any other questions that I can at this point, but until I have the yes or no on May 8th I can't confirm anything.

Thanks again for looking,

Devil Dog

Curious, how are you guys removing primer crimps?

Dave, I doubt it would be worth it for him to bother with shipping at scrap prices.

That said, I'll see what I can do for you. I think it's $15 for a Postal Priority Large Flat Rate box...at least it was when I used to process and ship brass a few years ago.

Firebretha is picking up a the Dillon Super Swage.

I'm picking up the RCBS version of the Super Swage that just came out, when I have cash, but I currently use an RCBS cutters on my case prep station. Looks like this:

The reason I like the cutter verses the swager is that it's really obvious when the primer has been removed. If you mix swaged brass with other brass you may have picked up at the range, or in your bins at home...then you have to reswage all over again just to be sure. Whereas my cutter it clean, clear, and accurate and the primers line up easier. (you can see the slight bevel on all this brass).

Gents, I have bad news, the deal fell through as the price went up beyond what we felt would be profitable for us. If anything else pops up I will let everyone know.

SUCKS....

Thanks for trying though!

I would pay $80/ bucket ($2/lb) for many, many buckets if it helps you secure a deal and not too late...
