These buy back programs really piss me off. They always brag about what vintage/historic and priceless guns someone turned in not realizing it's value. Only to watch the guns get dumped into a metal grinder.

I'd donate an unwanted gun to a local gun club before I let the shitty of Chicago destroy it.

lol, CLSB should go to all the places listed and camp outside with signs saying not to do it. Give people ways to sell their stuff legally and save history or, "save a gun, save a life"

figure get some attention.

mine was a tag along on a multi gun trade deal. the plastic magazine just doesn't work.

from what I know, steel mags are working good with this rifle but they cost as much as the rifle itself

Their not ALL going into a grinder. Their picked through. They see what's coming in. Anything good will be in someones collection.

Some group took 60 of the most worthless weapons they could find, turned them in for 100 dollar gift cards, then donated them to a NRA youth shooting organization.

Funny, but I'm sure those in charge don't care either. All they want is a larger pile of guns to be photographed in front of so they can say they were doing something.

Such a load of poop.

On the other hand, I do sympathize with the old lady who's husband has passed away and she's stuck with something she has no business being stuck with. She could get into some legal troubles by not having a FOID card or attempting to sell or even carry the weapon around.

I'm pretty sure, there is at least one old bird who was hassled sometime in the past while trying to turn in her dead husband's handgun to the authorities. I can't imagine too many old ladies in Chicago really up on the know about FOID cards and such.
