2012-07-15 ASC Range day with Trinitrogen

Some shots from today, some more pics to come shortly. Lonely Raven and I were graced by Trinitrogen coming out and having fun with his new AR and running thru the basics on it. Had tons of fun and cooked my brain with the high heat so I hope I was able to share something coherent you could pull something useful from.

This is not a dig, but do you guys do any free shooting without the rest? Some of the best times I've had is with my old man at the Sheriff's range standing with a pistol at 100yds, betting on each shot with old clays we found LOL

Yup, nearly every time. Today was waaay too hot and it was mainly basic skills we were doing.

The range was PACKED today. What we do is move the cones forward and create new free standing firing lines. The fun one is a contest raven came up with which is have 10 clays on each side for each shooter and then have a race to see who can shoot out the clays the fastest. pistol 100yards must have been fun due to the challenge!! I will have to steal that from you for the next time.

Youtube will have to do for now, though I'm not sure it gets displayed in the 60fps I recorded. I'll add videos as I can. They are completely raw, I don't have any editing options figured out yet. Some of them (like the first two) are the same scenes I recorded with both cameras at the same time to compare. More are uploading, I'm just beating the hell out of Comast Economy package right now

Yup 100yd standing is tough, our bets usually revolve around how many shots it will take us to hit the clay. My dad usually cheats and finds the mostly whole clays LOL. I like raven's idea too, I'll have to bring that one home with me. 5 clays each at 100yds might take a few clips

well. September 1st I have a buddy coming over from Las Vegas, NV for a visit and I promised him to go shooting.

Can we arrange something like that for Saturday morning. I will bring the gigglegun and ARs and lever actions and all my other toys for everyone to use

I'm down for that. It's been a while since I've seen you. Every time I take the SKS out everyone is like OOOHhh, pretty.

Firebretha forgot to mention I was taking out clays with the Mosin at 100 yards - no rifle rest or bipod, just elbows. I need to adjust the front post, it's off by about 6" at 100y...I have a feeling that's going to be tough to dial in with a hammer and a brass pin.

I wish I was over this cold already, I really wanted to shoot much, much more than we did; I was just too exhausted. It was a fun day!

This looks like Rick's trying to give himself Scope Eye. LOL

Maybe if I got a nice 1" rubber pad on the stock that would give me the extra reach to bayonet clays at 100 yards.
