you want to get a 2011 or later manufacture saiga-12 with 4 gas ports to start with, I had barrel cut 4 inches and Molot GK-01 compensator welded, the Tapco G2 FCG was installed, FCG, bolt and carrier were sent out for polish/profile job and I converted the saiga to pistol grip. caroline handguard and tromix stock were installed and galil charging handle was welded on. CSS performance puck, recoil spring and the auto-plug gas valve were also installed

I did the conversion myself except welding and profiling. Total cost in current state is about $1300

I need to get off my arse and mod mine. I've had the parts sitting in the parts bin next to the safe for six months now.

Mine shoots smoothly right out of the box...but then again I've got a Jan 2012 manufacture - supposedly they pulled their heads out of their asses recently. My mods are just so I can go high cap mag and recoil absorbing stock and all that.

EDIT: Looks like Samal beat me to it.
