ASC - Saturday, August 25th?

I'm a free man on the 25th... so any of you ASC members want to take me to the range that day? Would be a good day to get some drills in, prior to the Zombie Shoot.

What kind of drills were you thinking?

I should be down for this, I need to double check though as I have some family stuff coming up.

No... been scheming with Rick. Figure we can secure our own side area, and do our own thing. Very easy for me to come up with a variety of drill setups and sequences, to practice a variety of skills - handgun or rifle, or both.

I try to get out there around 9am so we beat the heat. Shoot for 3-4 hours then head over to the pub if we have time.

In. Pistol, rifle, and shotgun drills? I'll probably shoot some skeet afterwards if anyone is interested.

Can we utilize club steels and/or cardboard target holders/stands?

Rick & I were talking about building our own target stands out of PVC, so we can use the far range & do our own thing.

If we decide to do clays, I have a box or two lying around to contribute.

Get surgery tommorow. I won't know if its a bone graft or ACL reconstruction yet. If they just do the bone graft, I'm going to try and come out there if you guys don't mind me hobbling around.

I need to churn out some 9mm. It's probably about time I develop some rounds with those heavy 147gr JHP I picked up, and burn up the last of my 124gr JHP from 5 years ago! (that was a big box-0-bullets)

Rick & I are going to get together at his place on Thursday night, to build some custom target stands out of PVC. Going to throw at least 4 together so we can use them for whatever.

Very cool! Would suggest buying some U shaped stakes to stake them down on windy days if necessary. One of the ranges already has pre staked holes.

Good idea! We were going to fill the base PVC with quik-dry cement, to weigh the base down. Hopefully that'll work too?

Nice stands. I have to make some for myself. Any idea on the weight with cement? Anyone have plans for IPSC steel plate holders? I'm going to order some 25% and 45% size plates.

Are the cardboard silhouettes available at the club for us to use, just throw a couple bucks in the honor box thing?

As far as I know, ASC doesn't have any nice targets for sale, only the 10 for a $1 bullseye ones in the shed.

I bought a 60 pack of cardboard IPSC targets from www.targetbarn.com along with the cardboard colored dots to cover the holes. Targets should last me a few years, but I'm already almost through a box of 1000 stickers.

PVC won't work with steels due to splatter. You need wood (disposable) or angle iron stands for steels.
