Hunters have antlers?

I'm looking for antlers for my dog to chew on. My wife worked for Cabelas corporate office a year ago and a coworker gave her a few antlers he had found while hunting, or just didn't want to keep. Buying them at the local petstore is just crazy, so I figured a local hunter here might have some they'd be willing to get rid of cheaply.
My dog would really appreciate it

Antlers are awesome. We have a whole antler that we cut up for the Pit Bull and Leonberger to chew on.

It wasn't cheap/free though. I can ask Brianne where she got the antler...she actually drove out to an Elk Farm somewhere around here and bought it off the owner. Apparently the Elk shed their antlers and grow them back bigger *yearly*!

Not parting with any of mine, sorry
all antlers are shed every winter. Horns are not

You need to go to the local forest preserves in Jan-Mar and search for them. Thats roughly when whitetail deer shed them.

I give my antlers to the butcher that packages my deer for me. I would go deer this year, but I'm saving my $$$ and going after this next year. I'm so psyched!!!

I'd like to use my bow, but for my first one, I'd like to use a rifle.

I went to TX last year, found a guy on craigslist - Doss, TX. he had a farm, about 200 acres. took a small hog - made sausages. too long of the drive and we came the very weekend the 18 months drought ended - so we rained out on a second night - the blinds were flooded, first night we did walk and stalk all night and only by 4 AM ran into a gaggle of pigs, I was the only shooter left on feet, the rest gave up and went to sleep, so I got one piggy and that was it.

this year I am going to South GA with this outfit: http://www.trophysunlimited.com/ for 2 nights

with guide - $200 per night per person, one hog per person per night, no weight limit or trophy fee. without guide - $125 per person

I will post after I come back
