Group Buy on Civilian MRE

Group Buy on Civilian MRE

Long story short, Firespeed has access to a whole pallet of MRE Star MREs. We can get it for $60 per case, no shipping, (basically getting it at cost) but we'd have to put together a group buy for the whole pallet in a couple days! This is all new manufacture MRE with the heaters, not old stuff that's been out in Iraq.

Would this be something some of you guys might be interested in?

I thought this was too short of time to pull together a group buy, but I thought I'd at least ask. Who knows, maybe one of you ballers wants a whole case of MREs at cost!

What say you CLSB?

MRE = disgusting
I was giving that away...

on the other hand, they had some new MREs when I was in Afghanistan. Not sure what's it call, but THAT was delicious. It was 'Fire' something, I think. Could this be that new MREs?

These aren't the military ones, and MRE Star is known for having Entrees that nobody else has.

I'll have more info late tonight. I'm expecting an E-mail with specifics.

Can we get a full case of Veggie Omlet MRE's? Now that would be worth $60.

Any idea how old these are? I took a look at the company website says, they are good for a little over 7 years around 75 degrees.

Current 8 oz Entrees:
Beef Stew with Potatoes and Vegetables
BBQ Chicken with Black Beans and Potatoes
Chicken Noodle Stew with Vegetables
Chicken Rice with Vegetables
Cheese Tortellini with Marinara Sauce
Pasta Marinara with Veggie Crumbles
Vegetarian Chili with Beans
Lentils Stew with potatoes and Ham
Pinto beans stew with ham

http://www.mre-meals.net/mre-meals.php

Are these the complete meals?

Here's a vid of a guy eating one and whats inside: http://youtu.be/yfb-f8rGqJ4

I'd be interested in at least 2 cases if there are the full meals and aren't super old.

Full meals and fresh from the warehouse. So these are 2012 manufacture for sure.

But, seeing as how between two forums I've only got interest in about 12-15 sold right now, it's not looking like this will go through. I'll leave this up through Friday, and if we don't get interested in at least 30 I'll have to bail. I can't float $2500 out of my own pocket right now and FireSpeed has cash tied up in other projects.

But we'll see. I'm sure a lot of people haven't seen my posts yet.

Sorry guys, I'm pulling the plug on this. The warehouse wants the whole pallet sold by Tuesday. I can't imagine us selling a whole pallet by then...especially since they said a pallet is 60(!) cases, minus two cases they kept for themselves.

FYI: In the Army, MREs can be extended the expiration to 3 years by Food Inspectors(68R not the 68S) MOS.

Alright...sorry to flip flop. I just received a phone call saying that we have a half pallet we have access to, same price, $60 per case.

I won't start taking money till I have these in my garage ready for pickup.

Sorry again for the flip flop, I guess the warehouse just really didn't want to ship these, so we got a deal on them if we local pickup. I'll post up again once I have them in my garage, I just need to figure out the logistics of getting them home.

That's a good point...these don't have the Tabasco in them. I'm sure the Civi ones could have it, but I only recall seeing them in the Military ones.

Too funny! Brings back memories of Desert Shield/Storm. We would line our "Cats eye" helmet bands and hide them with the goggles thick band and use them for trade. Those were like GOLD on the "barter Market"!
