What are the chances we'll see awesome deals on black friday this year, given the election?

Awesome price on the 10/22 takedown. Too bad the store closest to me is in Louisiana.

I bet they only stock 2 or 3 takedown models at each store. I might have to pick up an ammo can of 223 for $159 and some Cabela's Carbon Hunter arrows to replace ones I've lost.

Dicks is offering their black friday prices on a couple items already. I just bought a 10/22 for about 196 out the door...

Dicks is totally underrated IMO. Yes, they don't have ARs and handguns and their stock is limited but they do have good prices and if you are into hunting the sale team usually has actually hunted, unlike the retired cops who work at Gander or Cabela's.

I was telling people I was seeing 10/22s for $189 last year at Dick's in another thread and they didn't believe me.

I just called Dick's about a Savage model 42 which retails for $459 and I saw at Cabela's for $430. Dick's didn't have it in stock but they quoted me a regular price of $419. Plus I joined their rewards program which they send me coupons for $10-$20 off items every month. You can't get that at Cabela's even if you are a club member. Instead you have to spend $150+.

I'm waiting until next Oct to buy my Savage at Dicks when they have their annual rifle sale. It's $20-$60 off. I picked up my Moss 500 field model with 2 barrels for $330 this past Oct. I used my coupons to drop it down another $30 and then racked up double rewards points and they sent me another $30 in the mail.

Well it's not like I have a use for a 22/410 now. Normally, I wouldn't wait but for that gun I don't see any use buying it now and not using it until early fall 2013 anyway.

If I go out in Jan/Feb for small game I suppose I'd pick one up earlier though.
