Join the coalition for Illinois people against lawful carry of weapons now!

Scared that a CCW provision may pass for Illinois, others with the priest Father Faggotpants are making this group. What a bunch of dicks.

"Worried that the lame duck General Assembly will try to pass a pro-concealed carry bill before the year ends, several gun control advocates, lawmakers and church leaders have banded together to form the “Stop Concealed Carry Coalition" to ensure that Illinois remains the sole carry-free state in the country.

"While we don't expect that the concealed carry bill will come up, it may because there will be a lot of horse trading going on in the final days of this old General Assembly," Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin told the Chicago Tribune.

"We need to remind those who have stood with us that they need to stay fast with us and make sure that we oppose concealed carry," Suffredin added."

Seriously, why shouldn't a law abiding citizen be able to carry a weapon to protect themselves? 49 states have this provision, why not Illinois?

Really? Betcha haven't educated yourself on some of the laws of your beloved state:

-A special law prohibits unmarried women from parachuting on Sunday or she shall risk arrest, fine, and/or jailing.

-If an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, the parking fee has to be paid just as it would for a vehicle.

-It is illegal to sing in a public place while attired in a swimsuit.

-Men may not be seen publicly in any kind of strapless gown.

-It is illegal to skateboard without a license.

-When having sex, only the missionary position is legal.

-You may not fart in a public place after 6 P.

-It is considered an offense to shower naked.

-Oral sex is illegal.

-You may not kiss your wife’s breasts.

I'm sure all states have dumb laws. I'm more concerned about keeping all of our rights and allowing law abiding citizens protect themselves.

Idiots. Look at #7002's comment for an example of the people signing this stupid petition.

"Until we can make sure only sane and calm people own and possess guns, I don't want to be worried about someone, who isn't sane and calm, concealing a gun from me."

Yeah, because an irate, insane person would never illegally carry a weapon on them.

I want to see concealed carry in Chicago. I'm sick and tried of reading about citizens being attacked for purses and phones right on Michigan Ave in the middle of the day. These assholes jump out of a car, punch women in the face, and steal their purses. A few armed, lawful citizens in the area (or the victim themselves) shooting back will stop this crime of opportunity real fast.

I know not everyone likes guns, and I really try to keep an open mind and not jump at things people say. However reading some of those comments just makes my head hurt.

A lot of comments about not letting the NRA bully us, and how Illinois should be a beacon or an example of how all states should handle firearms. Doesn't Chicago have one of the highest murder rates in the country?

How can anyone think we are setting a good example?

Oh and Dave this guy disagrees with you about Florida:

Miami is a hell hole, fwiw. And what are the anti-life effects? Killing people that cause crimes? Quality of life lower thinking a law abiding person may legally carry a weapon? One guy I work with is a pastor, and he carries a pistol. He said, "I'm a Christian, not a push-over".
