That's hot, but I'd like a 10.5 barrel instead of the 7 inch barrel shown here.

i'm having sellers remorse over selling you the LPK!

found out we are going to see less and less components because manufacturers are going to be consuming all components to build full rifles to try to fufill orders!

Well, I backed out of the deal before he could pick it up. I felt really bad but the guy was cool and very understanding. Said he had been looking for one for about a month with no luck. Time to buy an aimpoint for it..

Should have sold it!
Now you can have double non-seller's remorse or something like that. Fuck $2,500 after tax profit off a toy you spent $1,500 on and you kept it?
Dude...

money is only money, I (and my wife) have pretty much unlimited OT potential, and I'm starting a new job in a month that will double my income. A complete noveske rifle on the otherhand is damn near impossible to find. I feel much better about not selling it, then when it was considered sold. Also found a really sweet private range that I can shoot at that has all kinds of different areas to use it at (400yd range, CQB area, etc.)

Still, last month they were going for $2,200ish retail for a new one. It just seems to me like congress will never get anything done (for a change) and in a year or so we will be back to near normal pricing so you could have a new free one off your profits.

WTF, go have fun and shoot the shit out of it.

initially I thought the same thing. There's always the chance that doesn't happen though... and I like knowing the history, that I put it together. I'll be selling a S&W MP340CT practically brand new to fund a Remington 700 build in the very near future. Also looking to pick up a glock 34 in the next couple months. I'm pretty sure I can grab one of those cheaper new then used though lol.

$.02 make sure you look at Savage before pulling the trigger on a 700. I used to be a big Remi guy. I absolutely love the Accutrigger system Savage is using plus they tend to cost less.

Unfortunately, Grandpa Joe was making statements today that whatever Obama has up his sleeve could be pushed through as an executive order without having to ask for permission from the House or Senate.

I have a friend who is an attorney and an NRA lobbyist, and what they are saying is the mostly likely the executive order comment would be to force back ground checks at gun shows. The president can not create new law with an executive order. An assault weapons ban, or high capacity mag ban would be new law. That's why when crazy uncle Joe made that comment he also said something about required legislation. This is the case law that applies to it:

Until 1952, there were no rules or guidelines outlining what the president could or could not do through an executive order. However, the Supreme Court ruled in Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. v. Sawyer, 343 US 579 (1952) that Executive Order 10340 from President Harry S. Truman placing all steel mills in the country under federal control was invalid because it attempted to make law, rather than clarify or act to further a law put forth by the Congress or the Constitution.

So what my friend said is if Obama tries to create an assault weapons ban with executive order the courts will strike it down.
