I don't know how many of you follow the news at night, but WGN is horribly inaccurate in their statements on the 9:00 news. The other day they actually made the statement about assault weapons "that are the types of guns used in many of the shootings in Chicago". If that's a true statement, prove it to me with some sort of stats to back it up. On top of the random scare tactics they've been using, they've been replaying every single person's statement about banning guns that they can without any sort of regard of facts about their statements or any disclaimer saying those statements have not been proven. All of this while at the same time not even mentioning a whisper from the people opposing the gun control laws. Just amazing how one sided it is. Sadly, I'm probably noticing the one-sidedness of the whole thing because I'm aware of both sides of the argument. If I was oblivious to the situation and just hearing the news side of things, it would be so easy to just take their side. Really sad...

Well it's not only WGN. Just about all of the news stations are liberal slanted outlets. How else does a president with the worst economic recovery record ever get re-elected. The weak of mind are easily swayed by the media. It's good to know that there are people like you that are able to look behind the curtain. Unfortunately I think we are outnumbered by the sheep that are easily controlled by the sith lords mind tricks.

^^^ This. I've seen a similar picture on a few other news outlets across the country, I think they are all using the same "weapons experts"

Come on. Worst economic record? Ever heard of FDR and the problem he inherited, 25% unemployment?

Seriously, the economy is improving. The president's ability to change it pales in comparison to other factors.

As for guns, they are low hanging fruit. We all will admit that they are inherently dangerous, even to well trained individuals. The general public is about 50% armed and 50% unarmed nationally. I bet there are places in the country (Georgia, I'm looking at you) where guns are in 60-80% of homes. That means that in places like Chicagoland gun owners are a minority.

It doesn't make the one sided reporting valid. I'm just like you, I can't even watch the media anymore for that reason. But guns are low hanging fruit and they will always be targets for the general population. A husband in Oak Park might have a handgun but statistically his wife opposes it.
