How much is this 1911 worth? Any buyers?

I have a guy who wants to trade me a Colt Argentine Army model 1911. Not being much into firearms I have not much idea what the value of this thing is.

I looked on gunbroker.com and see there are 2 available on there, one at $1300 the other $1700. Neither has any bid on it ATM.

The other part is I'm not terribly interested in keeping it unless its something special. I would rather have the cash, especially if I can get rid of it quickly.

I found this on http://www.sightm1911.com/1911Production.htm

9) Colt M1911A1 Argentine Modelo 1927: S/N 1 to 10,000 = July 28, 1927 to Feb. 16, 1928 ( Marked on slide with ” COLT CAL. 45 MOD. 1927″ and S/N’s stamped on top of slide in Colt’s italic numbers.) SYST. COLT pistols made by Argintina under licence from Colt marked on right of slide with “EJERCITO ARGENTINO / SIST. COLT CAL 11.25 mm. Model 1927″. Other M1911A1 pistols made in Argintina at Fabrica Militar de Armas Portatiles, Rosario, Argintina S/N 10,001 to 112,000

But as you can see in the pics its got OH stamped on the slide. So IDK what is going on. Maybe someone can clear that up?

You need to talk to a person who has intimate knowledge of these guns . Thats the only way to find out what its worth . It seems like a lot of money for a gun made by the thousands.

Since you dont care about the gun I wont write what I can about it.

All you need to know is it's appears to be a clean contract gun made in 1957. It doesn't have a crest so it wasn't a military issue gun.
It's a tail end production gun worth about $700-$800.
If if had different markings it would gave been worth more.
Btw, the serial number on the frame, slide AND barrel should all match

Arrogance has to be earned.
