Man that was cruel and inhumane!!

Where do we sign up for this?? I think that would be a rush and a half! Oh boys adreniline was flowing so hard he probably did'nt realize the extent of his injuries till later that evening.

I do have 1 question for you though........Why is it that everytime there is a danger or injury to someone the camerman ALMOST NEVER assists the injured party? He just keeps on recording the footage!

ahh, the best thing about that was IT HUNTED BACK! now thats the type of excitment hunters crave, just he shouldnt feel it, cause that was a piss poor placement. it would be one thing to place a good shot then it charges and then face to face taking him down, as the lion slide to his feet.

now thats! what i am talking about.

I hope it left a scar. Can you imagine showing off the scar you got while Lion hunting.

On the other hand, I surprised those dorks didn't shoot themselves with all the lead flying around.

too bad the lion didn't take off his head

I'm not some tree hugger, but i don't see the thrill in shooting something defenseless with a high-powered scoped rifle for fun. That was just wrong, at least kill the damn thing with the first shot.

I have a question

I'm all for hunting. Deer are not only way over populated, but are also very tasty.

Why hunt Lion? Is there an overpopulation? You don't eat them do you?

There are certain African countries that allow high priced trophy hunts and use the money to manage the wildlife overall.

Some of these hunts can be upwards of $20,000. That money goes a long way towards an overall goal.

Without these hunts the wildlife situation would be in bad shape. Poaching is the biggest problem

Poaching Bad,

I would not call that Lion defenseless, I was rooting for him. What an amazing animal.

Like 2weelpilot there is no better illustration of get your game with your first shot.

Hunting, with the approriate permits, for food, or to give 20,000 to a wildlife preserve is cool with me.

Poaching in the other hand is just disgusting. I love animals, but at the end of the day, they are just animals... and yes that includes my pets.

Animal management is a serious necessity, but still hard to watch. Thanks for the info. J

Sure do. I have had Lion before. I don't recall what it tasted like. It wasn't bad though. I was at a game dinner and they had small samples of many different kinds of meat.

What a shame.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against certain forms of hunting and have hunted certain game in the past.
But give me a break, four or five guys standing around with high-powered hunting rifles (maybe not all that high powered for some of you guys) some with bipods, letting off at least a half dozen rounds into a liion WTF.
If its really all about the hunt, thrill, challenge, etc. then go after it with a bow and arrow, or large hunting knife. Otherwise, you are a coward, or you should just leave the damn thing alone!
It would be one thing if it was sometime in the 1800's and it was a matter of one's survival. If those fine gentleman are concerned in slightest about wildlife conservation, they could just donate the cost of their hunt to the conservation effort instead of ganging up on a single animal with multiple people and weapons. What a bunch of tough guys

Well put.

I am no tree hugger or anything, but I would have loved to see the lion take at least one of those guys out before he went down.
