Well I finnally decided what rifle to buy.

I finnaly broke down and went for the one I've been wanting. I picked up a Remington 700 Bdl chambered in 30-06. Man the woodwork is beatiful on this thing, the walnut is perfect. the bolts operation is buter smooth. I cant wait to get it all scoped out and take it out.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Very nice Tony...

Heh...? I hope that gunrack isn't hanging up somewhere visible from outside. Your neighbors might stop talking to you or worse you might attract some trouble.

As always Id recommend what I have on my rifle

Leupold Vari-X II 3-9X40

And as always youre more than welcome to check it out on a gun rather than at a gun shop.

This is the link - I have it in silver but they make it in matte and gloss too

http://www.leupold.com/products/products_highlights.asp

It also has an unconditional lifetime warranty

Wearing glasses I tend to like scopes with great eye relief.

Simmons Aetec is what I got

well good news Tony, congrats for one,

for an other, and the mount should fit, a buddy has a leupold 3-10x40 and the base rings which is also by leupold, is that a short rem700? if so the base will fit, measure the screws on the bottom of the rifle and if they are 6.6 inches apart it is. also the scope was sent out to premier reticules for a mildot installed, easy around 700-1000 price, i am not super sure the exact, look it up if you want.

he was selling both pieces as a set I think for 400.00 let me know.

let me know asap, cause he was already talking to a guy that was going to go over and look at it sometime soon.

its mint, and i would buy it myself, if i had another rifle.

Sweet, a true classic. Enjoy.

Oh, I like bright optics. A variable 3-10x50 with a 1 inch tube is what I'd try to go with. They pay dividends in weak lighting conditions. Leupolds are great.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.
