Aurora Sportsmans Club Members...

Anyone who is part of ASC willing to take me and the wife as a guest with them?

I'd like to check the place out + the wife would like to shoot her shotgun as it's meant to be shot (from the hip!)...not with the collapsible stock from the shoulder (indoor ranges like Article II won't let you shoot pistol grip shotties).

I wanted to join this year, but due to the craze, ammo was expensive and difficult to come by, so we didn't join. Thinking maybe next year.

not really, 460 a year /2 =230/ $"20" = 10 visits to the local range such as JR or Mega sports.

JR charges that per hour. So all you have to do is go to the range 10 times to make it worth it. If you bring friends (can have up to 3x [email protected]$10 a piece for the day) recoups that even faster and you get to shoot at a nice range VS indoor box.

ASC = a pit. Might as well toss some clays on public use land.

When it comes to shotguns I got spoiled by Northbrook. I was a member for about a decade.

ASC = Pit. Went there once and never went back. The only good thing about them is they allow rifles and pistols.

OOPs, I should add I have no clue about the skeet, etc shotty stuff!

I typically play on the other side doing Rifle/Pistol so we set up barriers/courses of fire multiple targets, etc.

I thought this was about scatter guns, but reread and noticed the "fire from the hip" comment. Northbrook range officers and members would have an aneurism. Maybe on one of the sporting clays courses... Naaa...

ASC is a better choice for this.

I live up in NW burbs, so I chose Racine County Line Rifle Club over ASC. only $120 a year, but have to put 30 hours/year for first 3 years to qualify for vested member

25, 75, 100, 500, 600 ranges, archery range, trapshooting fields (closed at the moment) lots of events, classes and because it's in free land of WI, full auto allowed, steel is allowed, NFA items are allowed, people carry open and concealed, very nice people and they tolerate few FIBs

for me it the same disctance to either place, but going north, don't have to fight chicagoland traffic

Did ASC go up in price? Wasn't it $2XX last year + $15/month assessment?

Rick touched base with me, and we figure a Sunday works best. However, I'm extremely busy these next few weeks...so you folks want to setup a CLSB - ASC day for Sunday November 3rd?

* I see on their website it's $280/yr + $15/month assessment = $460.
