Yugo SKS as a first...

I grew up in a household without any firearms. The only exposure I had was shooting .22s at Boy Scout camp. I have become very interested in aquiring a firearm to learn with. I have been doing some research and a Yugo SKS seems to be a good bet. Cheap, reliable, and readily available. I have a very good friend that is going to show me the ropes of gun maintenance, storage, etc and he recomended the SKS. What do you all think? Do you have any other recomendations?

Hi, my name is Matt, and I have a speeding problem

I have a Chinese SKS and yes it is accurate and a very nice weapon. You will bepleased if this is the weapon of your choice.

I would dump the stock and go carbon fibre with collapsable but thats just me.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Just got one

It's my 2nd one, and was a deal at $90. I was told that the SKS well has run dry so hold on to them.

Buy some extra mags also. Cheaper than dirt has sales on them frequently. J
