Arsenal SLR-95 opinions

Just looking for some opinions on the pros/ cons of this weapon. Is this a formidable weapon when paired against the AR15 within the criteria of stopping power, accuracy, affordability, and reliability?

From what I read, this is the best AK-47 out there.

in what environment would you utilize its stopping power? Seems like overkill to me, just my opinion since you were asking.

Talking Weapons

G-36 Is far as I know to be very reliable. Kick you in ass and also G3 by HK I think that HK. Ak47 is not a very accurate as Ar-15. AK-47 spray and pray weapon. Have fired both those weapons.

Arsenal has been the leading producer of post ban AK's since the ban. It is today what Polytech was pre-ban. By leader i mean this thing is nade from the best materials and has a higher production quality than those surplus AK's you'll find for $300. If you've priced them they are between $500-$700 depending which one and where you go.

As far as AK style guns go they are VERY reliable and functional. Ballistics wise the7.62x39 ammo they fire is SUPERIOR than the 5.56 ammo from th AR. This isif you are talking "stopping power", but in my opinion that is a scape goat of a term. I'll go into that another day.

So yes, an Arsenal AK is the Mercedes of the AK's in todays world, very good gun but bring your wallet in comparison to others you can find.

also I think you can not realy compare an AK to an AR. These two have been built for 2 diffrent purposes.

The AK was designed to endur the extreme conditions of Russia and the surrounding areas. It is a "simpiler" design in comparison to an AR yet in my opinion is superior in design even though I cant stand them. It is field stripped easier and has a lot less parts. it has a shorter barrel and will obviously not be as accurate out to distances that the AR can make it to but agan it was not designed fr long range use unlike the AR wich did have some long range use implimented in it's design.

i'm sorry if I'm rambling but I'm in a huge meeting at work right now and typing off my laptop trying not to get caught. I'll pop up later, hope this helps if not let me know what else you need to know

ok honest opinion here...get a AR15 form, john for 1200 bucks from bushmaster they basicly make a preban ar223.
its light comes with a for arm rail thats 4 rail sided, and did i mention light?
223 and nato ammo chambered. the cool thing is you can add a vertical for grip and its legal.

and the rear stock is trick looking they also make a smaller stock too thats i think 1.75-2 inchs short..but the lenth is perfect for me as it is..and i like to be upclose and personal.

ill find out more about it if you want..but they have another one at mega..a friends dad bought 1 a few days ago...very trick and very well made.

also too there are carbon versions of the 223 AR now...forgot who makes them...but its the same guys that made that AR223 pistol...which bill just bought...and were gonna blow the shit out of it soon, and see how it holds up.

just to bad he cant mount nothing to the forend..cause then its a class 3 and illigal in this state.

$1200?! Ouch...I'll keep my SLR. Thanks for the insight Ponch....kinda what I knew already, but the confirmation from a "weapons nerd" as Ken called it is reassuring.

If I was to have just one AR, I might have gone Ken's route, but this one kinda just fell in my lap. Picked it up from a family member moving to a strict state. New SLR-95 with 6 banana clips, 1000 rounds of ammo, plus a Saiga 12 (which I sold to a friend) for $600. I could not pass the deal up.

If you got both those guns for $600 and then sold the 12 which you should have got at least $100 for you got a hell of a deal.
The six mags you got are worth about $120 alone. so in theory you could say you got both guns for $480...good deal!

I have an SLR

It's the preban model that can use the AK mags. It's a milled reciever as opposed to stamped and is an incredible rifle. I paid 299 about 5 years ago, but now I hear their going for about 800. Nice is you can find them.
