Gun Safes - We discuss

What type of gun safes do you guys have? Im talking about the fire type safes not the Stack on or similar ones. Anything to look out for?

Would you go electronic or stay with the dial combinations?

Are the name brand ones like Browning etc and better than the Liberty type safes or am I paying more for the name and design on the face of it?

I need to do something here.. Too many gun cases laying around.

Ken, Im not a in a hurry yet. I'd like to wait till after I move so I dont have to move a 700 pound safe

Have you ever been to that place across the street from Mega? The guy that sells safes only. I stopped in there a while back..but I wouldnt have known a good price if I saw it

I'm with ya. I got stack-on type that does the job, but heaven forbid I have a fire. One of these days a good fire proof one will be on the list.

he delivers mike, but if i was you i would have him drop it on the 1st floor cause those things do weigh around 700 pounds...and it will make it somewhat what easy to move out and into a new house.

Personally I like the safes with dials. Make sure you keep up on the dehumidifier in the safe

For long guns I find that the included notches that your supposed to lean the barrel against don't seem to have the space. Slap on a scope etc etc and all of a sudden your safe it a pain to deal with.

I picked up a Sentry Safe at Walmart, It was inexpensive, but does the job. It is heavier and sturtier than Stack-on cabinets, but not so big that It will be a hassle to move
