New Legislature?

I went to a gun shop in Rock Falls, Illinois this past week with my parents to help them pick out some handguns. While they were looking at some used S&W I was looking at the AR-15's they had on hand. I have always wanted one and plan on getting one after I get my reenlistment bonus this February. The older gentleman behind the counter told me I better buy one quick before the new legislature passes and Illinois makes assault rifles illegal.
My question is, "Has anyone else heard of this?" or was he trying to get me to buy one that day? I've searched, but came up with nothing.

You can hear the same thing said today, yesterday or tomorrow. Nothing pending, nothing passed, but I am guessing always in the works. Always will be a possibility with Daley and Blago in office. Illinois revolves around Crook county.

Hey I resemble that remark!!! If we get our way we will have people going door to door to collect all your guns. You citizens don't need guns, and without guns we will stamp out crime.
