Could someone tell me what the target holder is like at Mega.

I made a bunch of PVC holders to use at GATs. I was wondering if Mega's system is the same.

Anyone been to both, are they different?

There's a place in Bensenville you can shoot at without one as long as you are accompanied by a card holder.

at mega they have a VERY CLEAN, WELL VENTILATED, WELL LITE, shooting range that uses powered sliding hangers.

I got to get down your way. It has been too long.

I'm planning on working till around 1. Then cutting out to be at GAT around 1:45 to pick up my HK45 and go shoot.

You will like this. I was looking at a Springfield TRP or a Full to save a few $. (I've had the Jones for a while.) I was bitching about being a Southpaw in a right handed world. So the saleguy dragged me over to the HK45. It was love at first grip. I've never had a full frame .45 pistol feel so good in my hand. The trigger is OK no where near a TRP, but not bad for a double action. I can't wait to shoot it.

not to long ago i went into S.A. to have it re tuned and also refinished in there new teflon coating and also had the new grips installed a little slide to frame tightening done. its always been a tack driver even at around 3000-4000

after i got it all done, i went to the range fired my 1st 5 shots and they grouped just like they did before "knocked the center out of the bull" and then fired off 100 round with no malfunctions.

i sleep with it all the time

Your toy isn't $1,400 base TRP.

GAT has a sweet TRP pro for $2,200 that got close.

Hey, the HK isn't elcheepo either. I think I paid $959. Buy enough of these toys and you can put a dent in the budget too.

Depending on how much I like it, I may sell my Beretta Brigadier Elite .40 and pick up a high cap 9. There is still a TRP waiting for me somewhere.

i was referring to tony, but i wouldn't buy a pro over a TRP operator, ALSO they do still make and sell the one i got the full length guard. "also makes a nice pistol whip cause of the weight" its more intimidating"

it adds more weight to the front "helps recoil lift, get a trigger job, "mine is at 4pounds also" polished trigger assym, polished port, etc, etc, etc.

the new TRP operators are all armory Kote, "i had to redo mine after A LOT of holster wear, and teeth scratches" also they come with those new grips versus the older style none slip grips "they fall apart after a while due to the grip pebbles that are glued onto the wood.

the adjustable sites which are also Tridium

steel frame to steel slide "long life" Springfields armory life time warranty and GREAT customer service.

hell while i was in there i also had them Teflon kote my micro instead of the park finish it had in O.D. "which i still stood with O.D"

sure i have a couple extra bucks into it, but the TRP operator alone is a semi custom/production gun since they do have the custom shop put it together and its all matched. "i believe they are all still"?? not sure though i would ask but mine is a complete matched. "thats the way they did it back when they made it. its a race/tactical/match grade firearm.

here is a pic of my micro carry.

They don't specifically list matched on their site. They do say match grade barrel and trigger. I ass-u-me they have not pulled back on quality.

kinda found out by reading a little bit more for you.

the FBI model "TRP Pro" is a custom gun. all internal parts are hand fitted.

the TRP Operator currently is a 1/2 & 1/2

that the difference now, and if you bought a TRP operator and had the custom shop do the TRP pro fittings your shelling out $$$$$$ way over the price of the gun almost another 1000.00

i find that its still a good deal and WORTH the wait to get on that limited batch of TRP operators with the full rail like i had and then give me the gun to work some of my magic to it. "and give you some major hand done upgrades" just buy me a few hundred rounds for the labor ill do for you"

unless you want to own a fully custom built by hand "the TRP Pro". then you can pay Springfield armory the money for it.

thankfully mine came out of the custom shop and was all hand built as all my parts are custom serialized matched.

they both are a GREAT handgun, both have there different applications and both are different TOOL for what your going to so with it.

dont get lost in spec's

TRP pro, smoothed out for carry, hand built for DEAD ON RELIABILITY" there is no such thing though light as they can go with a full size and no rail since the FBI still loves there FBI flash light tactics.

the TRP operator is a no nonsense brut swat pistol to slap a flash light on and move, hi speed low drag function, knock your teeth out with it with a punch to the mouth if i dont need to stop you with deadly force, and and adjustable tritium sites "which by the way will slice your thumb open if you dont rack it correctly" and well out FBI boys dont wear hatch gloves while they zip there coffee and stand out side with there wind breakers

anyway, any more questions, just give me a ring.
