Talking Buffalo Rock Shooting Range, Sunday May 25

Hey everyone,

Lacking a motorcycle does not mean that you can't have fun in other ways. I'm going down to the Buffalo Rock shooting range this sunday, may 25th.

I'm going with a few other folks and we'll there at about 9am. If anyone else is interested in joining us, it's BYOG&A (Bring Your Own Guns & Ammo)

I know there are at least a couple of 2nd ammendment supporters on this board. One of them looks like Shrek Come on, let's clean those barrels out...

ken,

That's totally cool. I haven't seen John post on here, but he's probably got somehting going on as well.

My dad went to Galyan's last night and picked up about 350 clay targets and about 500 rounds for the 12ga. Can anybody say, "Hell Yeah!!"

Have fun at the par-tay....

Does that place have a tactical range?
How far is it from Strats? For next time. I usually go to Gun World, I used to be a member of thier tactical group in the back of the range, but haven't been able to go since my second kid was born (too busy), but I'd be willin to try and sneak out once in a while.

No tactical range that I remember, been about 2 years since I was last there. Best plinking range I've found in this state. It's down by Ottawa/Starved Rock. Check out www.wheretoshoot.org. Or www.packing.org has a list of ranges. Not to mention has frequent postings on the Blagojevich/Daley gun grab situation. I could go on, but I realized I am posting on the wrong site.

I would love to, haven't found any local events to compete in. Not to mention a lack of any range that will allow "rapid fire" or shooting from any position other than standing/sitting at bench. Any info would be appreciated.

As far as I know the tactical range at Gun World, on Irving park is the only place you can do rapid fire and squat, moving, combat, whatever shots. It's pretty fun, we used to have cops on the tactical range (they're suprisingly poor shooters). Anyway, check them out. The membership is a little more than the regular gun range membership, but it's really worth it, instead of just going and plicking away, you can get some real fun stuff, timed and scored, different scenerios, car jacking, hostages, anything you can think of.
They usually let you try it once or twice, just to get you hooked.
I'd re-join, but I don't have the time I used to.

No I am not a police officer, former MP though. I live a couple of blocks from a state police HQ, they have a nice range and I can hear them having all kinds of fun from inside my house. Think I should just show up and say, "HEY GUYS I HAVE A GUN, mind if I blast away at your range?". As for Gun World, I've shot there a few times, didn't see anything regarding a tactical range. I take it it's not upstairs with the regular ranges. It's the only place I've found that allows long guns inside.

Well, we had fun. My dad brought a ton of 12ga. ammo and clay targets. Those suckers didn't have a chance. Pump-action Mossberg. My right shoulder hurts like hell, but man, did I ever get my aggressions out on those things.

I would have responded to some of the previous posts, but i had SQL errors trying to get in on saturday night. I'm glad other folks were able to post reply's.

This place is only $20 for the day and rapid firing is cool with them. They don't want you rolling around in the grass with your MAC 10 through

The tactical range is on the far right side (when you go upstairs), on the far lest is the long gun range (and the Russian mafia guys usually), and the rest of the room is the regular range, on the far right is a big metal door, the tactical range is inside there. I heard they were expanding it a lot since I was last there, so it's probably bigger and better.
