Loading problem with Yugo SKS

I bought a 1964 Yugo SKS about 3 years ago...brand new (lol) and have had zero problems with it up until this past weekend. It would not reject the rounds, so I took it apart and cleaned it real good and the bolt would still not recoil all the way back. I had to use it as though it was a bolt action. I'm kind of baffled to why it's not rejecting rounds? I'm almost guessing it's the magazine well? Almost seems like a week feed? Any input would be appreciated!

Either gas pressure is bleeding off and not generating enough to cycle or the piston is bent and not moving.
When you rack it manualy does it take effort to do tat as well or is it smooth. Also, I don't recall but isnt there a way to shut the gas system off to launch grenades from that rifle. If so make sure that lever isnt flipped by mistake

It takes effort to rack it. Jams about every 4 rounds.
I tried 3 different brands of ammunition also. I think I will order a new magazine...right now it's just the stock 10 round well that is attached to the rifle itself.

Cannot wait to get my M4 this summer. SPORTS here I come when it comes to problems. lol.

The magazine has nothing to do with it. Right now it runs an internal magazine. That's a moot point. If your having trouble racking it I would look to make sure the piston rod isnt damaged or the recoil spring isnt unched up and f'ing up teh works. You should just feel the weight of the recoil spring pushing on the bolt as you draw it to the rear. If you feel any other resistance, there's your proble. You could go through 50 diffrent ammo brands, if the mechanism is binding them you'll have no joy.

I'll check it out when I get back up north to the parent's house. I rarely fire the weapon so it's pretty new to me. I really appreciate the help guys!
