Bad day to be a haji

Damn those Apaches are bad ass. I don't think they used enough rounds with the 30mm.

Wow. The 64 is a very badass platform.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Just to yank people out of their comfort zone for a second...

Imagine a foreign force has taken over here... and you're out with your guns and your buddies huddled around like that...

You're cool with being smoked out in your own country while clutching your rifles? (basically the 'crime' noted on the video link)

If so, more power to you.

If they were smarter about it, they wouldn't be sitting there in a group with weapons.

Nobody said war was fair. Until you have been there you wont understand. We gave an oath to our country when we served. To serve our country and follow orders. Do you enjoy the warmth and freedom that we provide for you by living in this country????

Sorry to answer a question with a question, but:

Do you not enjoy someone exercising those rights that are fought for and provided?

I did preface that it would pull people out of their comfort zone. Obviously I was not wrong about that up front preface. I've always been of the mindset of military use for 'defense'.

Did that group pose a threat to our homeland? If they did, the video certainly did not explain or show it. I'd like to see one that clearly makes the case. From the audio, again, all I could tell that was wrong was they were grouped together and they 'were armed'... nothing further.

No, I'm not.. this is why I would like them back here in the Good Ole US of A and not over in the shit-hole with no exit strategy of even list of milestones that would start the ball rolling.

+1 Try and hang out on a corner in Naperthrill with an AK-47 and let's see what happens. Just shows to go that there are only a few that have the cajones to do what needs to be done for the rest of the sheeples. Some people just need killin'.

Im not going to get into politics with anyone since its a loosing argument just like religion. I do see what you are saying Arch but you have to see where we (U.S. Troops) are coming from also. Im not going to comment anymore on this subject cuz it is a very sore/bad/personal subject to deal with.

They were a potential threat to our soldiers. No explanation needed.

I too see exactly what your side of it is too. It's a kill or be killed mindset out there which is why I have the opinion that I do about how we should only 'bring out the guns' and enter a battlefield when absolutely necessary and take the deployment and use of said forces seriously and don't appreciate when they are sent out around the world for political or economic reasons to do what they do best... to kill people.

So were 9 year old kids that walked up to my uncle's jeep in Nam... The first one to do that dropped a grenade in the jeep. After that for the remainder of his 8 years over there none were ever allowed to get that close again.

im ok with this. let the bodys pile high my friend so high i can reach the sky.

if you have ever been on the ground when 30mm are going off all around you as your air assets are just stright killin shit showing a heat signature, its a might good feeling to know they are on your side.

you know whats a bit more impressive other then being inside danger zone of a 5k lbs jdam or useing more then 50 blocks of c4 in a single blast, knowing a c130 gun ship is flying above you call out targets for you and the gunner in the bird has an itchy triger finger and letting him go hot.

Arch. if you aint been there you dont get it. It alot different to live it then it is to read about it or hear about it.

Willard: When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle.

Unless you can put the activities shown into the proper context of the mission, or objectives, or earlier engagements, then I don't see how you can question whether or not it was justifiable.

We don't know if they had "finally" located the insurgent group that had taken earlier action against our troops, and now they're regrouping for another attack or what.

Arch...you have the freedom to say whatever you want. Just don't expect everybody to like it or agree with it.

Maybe it's hunting season over there, and they were just getting ready to go hunt some camels or something.

The military doesn't just fly around and wipe out groups of people for the fun of it. No matter how much they would like to. Someone, somewhere has to answer for the expended rounds, and the lives taken. That's another reason a lot of these engagements are recorded.

I honestly think a lot of people would rather not know what happens during a war, because it makes them unconmfortable, and makes them think about things that they're not used to dealing with. I personally think there should be restrictions on how much of this gets out to the public. Just let us do our jobs and stay out of it. We'll see you when we get home. IF we come home.

Stkr,

I don't think I've ever hoped nor wished that everyone would agree with me or like me for what I say. I call it out to share an opinion.

I agree with you that without context we are left to make assumptions. Reading the comments here is testament that just about everyone made assumptions about the video. The unfortunate part is that sometimes the one who has to 'answer' for the judgment call does unfortunately get it wrong sometimes. Seen enough FF videos to make me want to puke.
