Gun Show: Wheaton - 10.4.09

Saw this on another thread, but there's a gun show in Wheaton this Sunday (10.4.09). I don't know if I'll be going yet but if I do it will probably be pretty early. Thought I'd post up in case anyone was interested. Put on by Pioneer Valley Sportsman's Association

DuPage County Fairgrounds
2015 W. Manchester Rd
October 4th
8-1:30

I heard there was some legal pressure trying to keep gunshows out of our towns. I remember reading an article about it.

Sure their prices are high these days, but if they have something to sell, and there is a shortage, then there will be gun shows!

Granted, not much to sell this summer, was there....

I'd love to go to this one, but I'm so damn broke. I need ammo boxes and reloading components. Maybe some GI straps and little stuff....

I remember back in the day, I'd go to a computer show in Wheaton, and in the same lot but different building I'd also go to the gun show. You should see the crazy looks the geeks give the gunners and vice versa.

If you have never been to a gun show and do decide to go to one of the local ones leave your expectations at home.
Unless things have changed you will find a deal only on beef jerky and cheap slave labor made gun rugs.

I was there. Not much to see. Prices were high on everything there and there was nothing there that i dont already have and nothing that I am wanting bad enough to pay the prices they want. Its just fun to get out and go see whats there. The only thing I like is the huy selling all the soft tactical cases. I bought two off him last year. His prices arent too bad. It ended at 1:30si if you haven't already gone don't waste your time.

Depends on what you're looking for. I bought some new 47D for $20 ea. 1911 stainless hex grip screws, bushings and tool for $5. I went there for primers and powder but there were a bit high ($33) for a box of Winchester primer. There was an N.O.S. Eotech 552 for $225 but I spent most of my cash on other things. M1 Garands from $650 and up. All in all it was good for me.

They had everything that you mentioned but like I said the primers were pricey. Try the Kane County Fairgrounds next Sunday.

$33 for primers is about right unfortunately (unless you buy in bulk)...I'm lucky if I can find any at all! I need to score a couple thousand rifle primers, projectiles, and 8# of powder so I can load up!

I'll probably hit the Kane County one, like you said...
