i'm not a gun carrying hillbilly like the owners of this site so i'm not current on the events.

I did see chicago is suppose to be going to the supreme court on their illegal act of not allowing chicago residents to have one of their rights to own a gun.

To the best of my knowledge Illinois law has not changed. I have not seen or read about any changes in any of the sportsman publications I read nor in the NRA magazines.
That doesn't mean it hasn't changed, but I would be surprised if it did because this thread is the first I've heard of it.

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

Hmm sounds like maybe your mental issues might have a role in your lack of knowledge about the subject

go time traveler style and go back in time, fuck his grandma, then shoot forward in time and then fuck his mom. Then return back to present state and call him a the product of two incest whores and hes your son and show video of you plowing the both members of his family. .

Nazi non carry law still in effect.

But like I say all the time, don't do anything stupid to draw attention to yourself and it's very likely you won't be stopped if you are carrying a weapon anyway.

2nd amendment: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

BTW, If you like the word "free" (as in "freedom") then you should own a gun.

Ask a Jewish concentration camp prisoner from WW2 how the "gun registration" worked out for them.

No law change has occurred. Even if one had passed, it wouldn't have taken effect until Jan 1 most likely instead of a random day in October.

Lookes like a 'temporary' law change based on a single ruling in the Supreme Court. Look for IL to out-law that quickly.

I'd also not assume that the cop pulling you over is aware of that 'law' and would be expected to be hassled or arrested if they found a unloaded gun on the cneter console or glove box.

Three are two different cases ( I am sure there are many ) that are being discussed.

First, is the second amendment debate in the supreme court on the constitutionality
of the Chicago / Cook County gun ban.

The next is a case that raised the question..... is the closed center console of a
vehicle considered a "case" for transportation of an unloaded and "cased" weapon.

That went to court, the answer is yes.

So, you can transport an unloaded weapon "cased" in your center console as long
as all other aspects of carry / transportation laws are met.

And you are not in Cook County.

No change to standard gun law verbiage.... just defines the console as a valid "case"

According to these guys.... and Illinois v. McDade.

http://www.concealcarry.org/carrylegal.htm

The ammunition can be in the clip, in the case as long as the clip is not in the gun.

So what was the previous law? Ive always transported guns and ammo in seperate cases. I usually have a trigger lock in place but not always. All cases are in the back out of reach.

DOes this change allow me to stow an unloaded gun and ammo in the center console? Or does the ammo need to be seperate in for instance the glove box?

Note that it still must be unloaded.

this is my question. on another forum, many have said that a holster with an external magazine slot (attached to the holster) is legal. mag may be loaded as long as it is not within the gun

truth to this?

Anyone know if there is a legal differance between center consol and glove box? I don't have a center consol in either of my vehicles.

If you have your FOID , get a gun. You already ride and look good , the gun would add to the hotness.

When I'm going to a range, I usually just put everything in my trunk. I got stopped at a "sobriety checkpoint" one time. The cops face was priceless when he opened my range bag seeing my pistol with 8 fully loaded mags, and an extra box of WWB.
