Actually I already got a gun il be shooting. It belonged to my grandfather, it was brand new and never fired when my dad got possession of it. Its a Colt M1991A1 government model. My dad shot it one outing on the 4th of July and I cant imagine it has more then 2 or 3 clips through it. Never fired a gun before and friday im going with my bro so it should be interesting.

Gotta admit, I am scared to shoot it because I know its a big round with a lot of kick to it. Also when im at this range I wanna see about getting some info on some classes. I know how to tear this gun apart but I need to learn the safety procedures and do's and dont's.

I actually just got done cleaning it for my first range practice tomorrow. I had a hoppes cleaning kit available to me. I used #9 cleaning powder to get rid of all the residue in the barrel and over all the moving parts. I followed this guys cleaning procedure to clean, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQMmkUCFhwg

Im just happy I hit the paper lol. Dont know how to aim yet. I know to look down the site but I dont know how to work em both together for a accurate shot. Dont matter right now tho, was just getting used to what it feels like to fire a gun. And I did hit it 5 times, possibly 6. The one thats more centered I might have hit twice because its a big rip were the others arent.

I will start you off with a helpful hint: Your front sight post should be clear and your target blurry. It will come in time, just remember to relax, breathe, and shoot at the end of your exhale.
