Magpul's AFG (Angled ForeGrip)

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...gled-foregrip/

The AFG (Angled ForeGrip) is a new forgrip from Magpul that will go on sale later this month. They claim it allows a more natural hold than a vertical foregrip.

The first link has a nice little overview of slides summarizing the different types of grips you can utilize on your AR-15/M4 with their advantages & disadvantages.

And here's an additional review.

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...ul-afg-review/

Rather interesting... discuss.

In my day, we didn't have any of this fancy grips and optics shit. We shot our musket sized M16A2 with no accessories and we liked it!.

In that case, allow me to confiscate any optics, night sights, etc. that you may have on all of your firearms, and replace them with old school iron sights.

in all seriousness, it looks like a neat product. I'd like to try it out. The explanation makes sense.

I purposefully picked a vert grip that had a nice curve to it so I could hold it like that...the grip should be for reference, not to be held like a tennis racket.

This is the grip that Magpul has been teaching at their tactical carbine course for the last couple years. It really helps speed up target acquisition and help with follow up shots too.

I think the grip itself is unnecessary as you can just grab the handguards but this technique is seriously awesome. Take the course if you have the chance. This grip is why I'm selling my Entry Tactical, I can't grip it like this.

The problem is that the m4 handguard length is too short for my monkey arms to reach where my grip goes, I hit about 2 inches in front of the gas block. The midlength or rifle length fits much, much better. The Entry Tactical is still an awesome and incredibly accurate rifle, just not for my shooting style.

I just signed up for Tactical Pistol 1 and Tactical Carbine 2 up in Racine run through Costa and the Magpul team, slots are still available and very affordable. These guys make special forces firearm training look like preschool kids with slingshots. Want to go to the show? Prices are reasonable and you pull a 20% off all Magpul products for life with the registration of a course.

When is it? I'm wanting to go with my YHM Specter, but it depends on the time frame and work (assuming I still have a job in 2010)

Early and mid 2010, $500 for Pistol 1 plus 2k of ammo for handgun. $600 for Carbine 2 plus 2k of rifle ammo and 500 rounds of pistol ammo. Figure about $2.7k for both courses total for all expenses plus hotel rooms and board for the weekend. It sounds expensive, but this is the kind of training that Spec Ops guys wish they could receive.

Carbine 1 was done on a stock Midlength FrankenAR using Brown Bear ammo and Magpul/USGI mags on an issued FLC with a few mag holders and pistol mag holders with a single point sling and a Spectre drop leg holster for the G19.

I'd love for some CLSB guys to show up so we can show the track day guys how to really spend money and learn some skills, this is how to do it. Ken and Detective Rican think they can handle a firearm, this course will show them who's boss...

The gauntlet has been laid down, anyone up for a challenge? Let's do this shite.

I'm guessing the course is like the DVD? If so, it's alot like what we did for 8152 school. (search USMC FAST team) it'd be good to do that again, after 10 years.

They're former spec ops guys themselves who did work in the private sector after leaving the military. Pretty hardcore guys, you should sign up for the course, only a few slots left...

Rob, it is a lot like FAST school from what some friends of mine have told me.
