"The Judge" Handgun

Back at my parents house for Christmas this week my Dad shows me this gun.

http://www.taurusjudge.net/

It shoots 410 shotgun shells and / or .45 caliber rounds. The cool thing is you can alternate shells! This thing is crazy. I didn't get to shoot it this time, but my Dad loves it and people at the Range can't believe it.

I had never even heard of it before.

shot it last year at a taurus demo day at maxons, the 410 shells have a lot less kick than the 45lc rounds

I have a friend with one and got to play with it. It is cool, but I really wasn't impressed. I think Henderson said in another thread it is good for killing snakes. The things I liked was that the 410 shotgun pellets won't go through walls to take out someone unintentionally and it is pretty small.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

Was definitely a fun gun to shoot. Something different. Not really a must-have but unique enough.

I think it's more of a home defense type gun, if the 45 doesn't get them the 410 will.

Much, much better choices than that gun. Home defense guns are like condoms, better know what you are using and that it will work.

I think I read once in amer.Riffle man. That a shorter barreled 4-10 with white tape at the end of the barrel was a very good choice.

Safest for other family members and niegbors

Total hillbilly in the vid but check out the spread on different ammo, could seriously ruin ones' day. Cool novelty but a bit large for self defense/carry. Cool idea though.

Anybody that thinks getting shot by just about any gun won't stop you in your tracks is just plain stupid! I know, I was shot by a 38 caliber and it seriously ruined my day.

Throwing a shoe. That actually had me laughing as I pictured the look on the intruders face when I through a shoe at him, then I went into thinking about the Austin Powers movie where he's like, "who throughs a shoe? Really."

Plenty of shooting incident history that will not support that. A normal person usually does not get shot, but then again, most normal people do not break into private homes in search of cash, drugs or stuff to steal while possibly strung out.

A home defense or personal defense weapon is not intended to stop the other person from shooting at or harming you, it is to stop them dead.

The Judge is an interesting gun, and might get the job done. Might being the key word.

It's a fun revolver. It's kinda big and intimidating.

Any pistol hurts I'm pretty sure. I'd love one just for fun.
