Palos half marathon

Anyone doing this? I'm up in the air since my knee has been bothering me, but I may change my mind. I'm curious if anyone else is doing it.

May 2nd

I'd be interested, but today was the first time I've run since Feb 1st so don't know if I could get my self back in good shape by then. I'll check back in with this in a few weeks and see where I'm at.

Id be up for it with a partner. What are you expected finish times? I average 7:30 - 8 min miles but would be willing to step it up if needed

Never done one. I'd guess I could avg about 7mph so I'd be slower than you

Thats fine, as long as you dont quit. I had to run the last half of my last marathon by myself because my partner quit and it suckedddddddddd. When do you think you will start training?

I won't quit. I run 7 mph for 6 plus miles right now real comfortably. I ususually use 7 mph to recover from my intervals on 6 mile runs too. I think I can hold it up there. Let's star doing some training in a week or so. That should give me time to rest my knee. When I start training I can make a final call on this depending on my knee wheter or not I'm going to do it. You sure you wanna put up with my 8 1/2 to 9 min miles?

Yep, fine by me. I can be competitive in 5 to 10ks, not half or full marathons so I just run them for fun (and the t-shirt lol) Let me know some times that are good for you and we can make it work.

sounds good. I'm going to stop by the Naperville Running Company on my way home from computrainer classes saturday too. Part of my problem maybe how many miles are on my running shoes.

crap!!! I just checked my race schedule. I had this, the Romeoville 5k, and the WORS Iola Bump and Jump on my list of races to do on May 2nd. Although, I really wanted to do all three of these I have to give the WORS race precidence. I need to compare my race from last year to this year. Sorry Bluebusa07. I'll still be up for some training if you're interested though. I could use some help on bumping my run to sub 8 minute miles.
