Anybody doing it this year or has in the past? Its pretty much a half marathon in downtown chi with obstacles every 2 miles. I think this year they have running up and down soldier field bleachers, giant tires, and monkey bars to name a few. Im semi training and contemplating on doing it. Its a good challenge im up for and i noticed the runners club here likes challenges anyone wana join me? They have a team relay version too for those that dont want to or cant do the whole thing.

I would love to do that, but the biggest obstacle right now is the cost.

the race its self is fun is it worth 180? i did it 2 years ago for 110 for solo and wasn’t happy.. no nice dry fit t shirt no finishers medal and how everything was organized makes a local 5k run look like a world fair. no particular place to start as in age group or race pace. the relay teams spent lots of time finding their partners. there was a big pile up on the stairs where u lost like 6 min waiting to file in behind someone and passing really wasn’t a smart idea. so if u got stuck behind someone who cant do stairs. SOL hopefully it got better cause the obstacles are a nice mix up to an average run. if i do good after the Chicago half and still have the urge to run ill sign up

I'd consider doing it with a team, a team that doesn't mind turning in a horrible time, listening to me complain, and is cool with excuses ranging from "my kids kept me up late" to "last night I was abducted by aliens". Anyone want to comment on how well it's organized? There is nothing worse than a poorly organized event.

liquid dude up top said that it was poorly organized. when your stuck behind slow people ur screwed. im sure you can take this at a slow pace. its not a race per say. do it for yourself for "fun"...kinda like a track day. see how far you could push yourself if you want.

Its a fun event. I did it the first year when it was 12.2 mile run with obstacles. It was well organized and a blast to compete in.
