Doing it again, with a bunch of peeps downtown at Ohio Street Beach. Should be in the water by 6:30am. Swim a couple miles and then run after, probably around 6-10 miles. Not sure if I'm gonna do the run or not, because I have the warrior dash that night after working all day. I'll see how I feel. Newbie friendly, and you can stand almost the entire way.

Hopefully it won't be too crowded in the Lake, with this many people from CLSB going it's gonna be tight.

I really think you guys need to step it up a notch and swim out 1 mile and then swim back. That should give you the additional motivation. LMAO

I would do it, but it might be a lonely swim for me. Plus with all those nutty ass drunk boaters, I would be propmeat.

It's 10 races over 10 days in 10 cities. The Masters 4/5 race on Saturday is in Grafton at 1PM so the timing doesn't really work out at all. Bummer.

I knew this Polish dude who had to get across this fucking river to see his dying grandmother. He swam half way across it and got too tired so he swam back.

That's what I told somebody on that century ride we did at the 62 mile mark. He thought he couldn't make it, and I told him to just turn back around.

We will do that every so often to keep sharp in the water. I think that will be the last time I will swim that far though. I was so bored I wanted to shoot myself on the way back. I can't imagine swimming 3 or 4 miles helps anything really, except mental fortitude.

It's a surprise most of the time. Actually I was shocked how clear it was. I could see the bottom, so I figured it was shallow enough to stand, and it wasn't. Every now and then I will pick up a Dorito bag or a chunk of seaweed, but no syringes or dead bodies yet.

Do it! Like I said, you can stand almost the entire way, so plenty of time to rest or situate your goggles or whatever. Usually 3 or 4 other chicks go too. It's a nice place to swim. Actually perfect really.

Yep, but you can do whatever you want afterwards. It's just an out and back on the lakefront path, so you can do a mile or whatever, just turn back when you are done. You should go!

How tall are you? I can probably get you one. There are I think 4 other chicks going, and one is teaching the Chicago Police Dept. swim class or something. At least two of them have multiple suits. I don't really need one for warmth, but I like to practice how I race, and the suit seems to help with buoyancy, so I wear it.
