It's official. I'm signed up for the international distance. July 17

Anyone else doing this besides Solo and me?

I'll be getting ready for the Ironman that weekend. On another note, interested in doing the Bigfoot Lake Geneva tri this weekend? I signed up for the international distance today.

Looks like Bigfoot is on sunday. That's the day I'm taking Anne to the game so I can't.

Thanks dude. Yeah I thought it would be a good field test to see where I'm at with some longer distances right now. Nothing near a HIM, but still, after I felt on the little sprint we did I gotta see if I'm gonna blow up again on this one during the run. I'll do another 3 miles tonight and then nothing until Sunday. After Racine I'm gonna start working on my running. Planning on going to some running clinics to see what my problem is with longer distances. After that I need a tri bike! I'll hit another one or two Xterra races and probably one or two regular tris after Racine.

Good luck with this one. After this weekend I want to start getting back to some MTB stuff too. I feel like I'm losing my edge. Hopefully you are doing some bricks now?

I'm having some knee issues again so I had to adjust my training a bit. I won't be doing so much running. I have to replace it with stretching and icing right now. I'll do a couple the week before. Luckily, I've done a lot of them already this season and just had 3 weeks of 12+ hours training time!! So I should be fine.

I'm glad to hear you say you're getting back to the Mtb. I still want to place well in something this year so I'd be comfortable moving up a class. It's a stretch, I know. But I was hoping making meager attempts to hang with you on the trails would get me there.

After the oly I have Naperville. But it's only a sprint so I'm not focussed on it for training. I will be making a decision on doing the Matoon HIM after the oly but I want to bring back the mtb too!!

I'll let you know which Xterra ones I'm doing, that should keep me motivated to hammer on the MTB. I think I have the best chance of finishing well at an Xterra event until I get a tri bike. Pretty soon I'll stop working on the swimming on Saturday morning and switch to MTB.

Great job yesterday Brian! U are getting fast! And super big ups to Anne for getting her first one down. She's now official! Hope you enjoyed it! They usually do a good job down there.

And thanks for the goggles...can't believe I left mine at home.

Thanks Hans and Tobie too!! You two have been an incredible help to Anne and I. I can't thank you two enough!! It was a great time. We just got back. I had a really good swim and bike down there. I was 11th in the bike with a 21.6 avg. The course definitely had more hills than advertised but I actually enjoyed that. I had some serious problems on the run. My quads were locking up by mile 1. I had to revert to run/walk/massage/run. I still managed to finish the run in an hour but I was really disappointed in myself. I need to figure out why I cramp like that. I ended up being 21st in my age group and I'm super proud of my swim without a wetsuit!!

Don't mention the goggles. I was glad I had a spare pair to help. Congrats on 2nd in your age group!! Great race.

Thanks man. I still got some problems but I think when I get it straightened out I'll actually be pretty fast.

Next in the lust is Naperville. I shouldn't have problems with that distance but we'll see. After that I'm doing race the lake. 90 mile team time trial in WI!
