What races are you doing this year?

I have the Shamrock Shuffle, Racine 70.3, a bunch of Xterra triathlons in WI, IN, MI, IL, and OH (not sure which ones yet, but definitely MI and IN), Warrior Dash, Lake Zurich tri, Bigfoot tri, and a gaggle of WORS races. Sylvan Island falls on the same day as the Shuffle, so not sure what I'm doing yet, but probably the Shuffle. We'll see if there is a Rock Cut race, PAMBA races, and Palos race this year too to work in. I'm gonna be busy again this year.

Where is the "Big Foot" tri at?
Two people in CT class had Big Foot jerseys on...

Races for me...
Focusing on Bicycle and Motorcycle at this time.
I am planning on running a local Tri Series only doing Sprint.
With that, I wont have to train to hard swimming and running.

Big Goal is Tour of America's Dairyland. and local crits for training.

Motorcycles... Picking up a 250GP bike.
Only running a few weekends... Not sure how much time the bike is going to eat from my schedule.

In April, I will decide if I am going to run the Racine 70.3.

I might do it. The big reason, is basically Chicago city crap to deal with, which I loathe. Parking, people, billions of people, more parking. You never know, I might, but I hate the clusterfuck which is a race in the city.

Bigfoot tri is in Lake Geneva, and was a very well run event with stiff competition. A good race to see where you are at fitness wise. You better do the Racine race again! You can't let another year go by knowing that race kicked your ass!

The motorcycle will definitely eat up some time, especially a 2 smoke. Seeing as two of the FVOR hare scramble weekends are on tri dates, I have whittled my lofty goal of winning the C class championship to maybe a couple race wins instead.

The time commitment to the 2 smoke is the unknown.
The wife and I are returning to trackdays as well. A conflict of time I didnt deal with last year.

April 10th is my Racine 70.3 decision, cut off date.
That leaves 14 weeks for training.
By then, I should know how much time I cam give for training.

So far I just have the Shuffle, the Pitt Marathon, Chi Half, and probably the Chi Marathon. Hoping to add a view sshorter distance ones in the mix as well.

BTW to avoid the City parking you can just park up near wher I live for free and walk the 4 miles or take the bus down. It is not worth to pay 25+ bucks for parking and to sit in line to get out of the garage breathing all that exhaust after a race.

What races are you doing this year?

I'm doing Sylvan, Christie clinic marathon, Racine 70.3, Naperville tri, evergreen Olympic tri, a couple of WORS races and PAMBA races (palos especially), race the lake TT, and a couple of Xterra's. I'll be busy as hell too!

My wife will do Chicago again butto be honest it's a fuckn' cluster fuck amature hour there. I hate the thought of leaving my bike in that cluster of a transition area they run! Plus I hate the city! I can't think of a good reason to come back here on the weekend.

Well......

Evergreen conflicts with Racine so evergreen is out. I have a feeling I'll be choosing between palos and race the lake again too. Can't do them all I guess. Hopefully my mtb comes back from powdercoating this week. I need to get that finished and get out to Palos for some trail time!

Cool! Annimal is going up there to and Hans is also racing. What's the deal with getting signed in and racked? Do you pretty much have to be up there Friday?

Believe it or not, it was pretty well organized from what I remember. We got there late the night before and just made it into transition to set up. In and out were at the opposite corners of the square area, so there really wasn't a good/bad spot to rack. Your bib number is posted on the racks, so you can't choose where you are at. I found my bike pretty quick during transition though just following the numbers up or down. It was a first class race IMO for my limited experience.

Depending on where my numbers are in March, I might sign up for the BHF bicycle race.
Then if that isn't completely humiliating, I might sign up with X for the ToAD races.

My expectation that this will actually happen is very low.

Just signed up for my first race of the year, a 1/2 Marathon in April.
This will be the first time I do a run only event.
I'm actually looking forward to only having to run.

This event also marks the time I have to decide about the Racine 70.3

yeah a race is a race. Don't matter what it is as long as you're competing against someone. So what place did you come in?
