this is currently in oak park, and will stay in that general area

What: The 5th annual Trevor Win'E Memorial Challenge is a CrossFit Team WOD designed to support our active duty military personnel who are currently deployed in the middle east. Each participating team donates one cooling vest (Mist-n-go) to deployed service person in Iraq or Afghanistan. Your team can donate... your vest to any deployed service man or woman! Your affiliate can also sponsor a unit and we can take care of a group.

Last years Trevor Win'E (pronounced Win-Nay) CrossFit Challenge raised over $51,000 and the cause was able to donate 364 cooling vests to the folks who need them most. Join the cause and do it for the heroes!

Their are three levels of the Trevor Challenge. The WODs are

ELITE TEAM: Teams of four work together to complete the following:

300 Pull ups

400 Push ups

500 Sit ups

600 Squats

WARRIOR TEAMS: Teams of 4,6, or 8 work together to complete

150 Pull ups

200 Push ups

250 Sit ups

300 Squats

GRUNTS: Teams of 4,6, or 8 work together to complete the following:

75 Pull ups

100 Push ups

125 Sit ups

150 Squats

Execution: This is a team effort so it is accumulative reps. Only two teams members can exercise at a time, and all reps must be completed before moving on to the next movement (i.e. finish all pull ups before moving on to the push ups). FORM COUNTS!! All counters must insure that repetitions be performed perfectly.

Prizes for CrossFit affiliate or individual who donates the most cooling vests!

The registration is $50 per team member. This includes T-shirts for the first 50 teams registered.

My crossfit gym (Bulldog Crossfit in Oak Park) is putting together a memorial workout on memorial day. The cost is $50 per person and its a team event (teams can be 4-8 people) For those of you that have considered trying crossfit, this is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the gym, the community, etc. One thing about cross fit that I will stress is that the workouts can and will be scaled so that everybody can do it and still get a great workout from it. By scaled I mean, if you can do 5 pull ups but not 50, they will modify it so that it will be a move that is still difficult, but something you can do 50 of.

If you are interested, please post.
