Inspirational? More like irresponsible. Judging from the blisters he was not trained to do this distance regardless of finishing. Stuff like that just leads to injury. I'd like to know what problems he woke up with today and if he can even walk. Doing distances like that needs to be respected. He's extremely lucky if all he got was blisters.

^^and all the serious runners pay for that shit with ridiculous rules for heat and humidity, etc....for the substantial group of people that simply are not prepared to run a marathon.

For sure! I can only imagine! Quite a few years back, I wasn't a runner by any stretch of the imagination and one night I decided with NO consistent level of cardio or training prior that I was going to go for a run one night.... Well half way into my run, I decided I was feeling ROCK SOLID and wanted to push the envelope... So I set this mid point destination to turn around, well I hit it and ran back home... All said and done, it was 4 miles... (Now I know thats a mere jog for some folks on here, but not when you dont run... EVER) MANNNNNNN I went to get out of bed the next morning and damn near buckled to my knee's! My legs were SHOT!

So I can only IMAGINE what this guy was feelin!

its an awesome feeling. Last summer, I did a 12ish miler. I was hurtin the next day or 2. Mostly my nipples. Chafed to fucking hell. Walked around with a THO for a few days. Good times.

The original marathoner collapsed dead after completing it. I'd say our large friend did alright in comparison.

The photo log makes him look so very unhappy and lonely. It looks more like an ad for depression pills. I'm sure this isn't good for his knees, no matter how much muscle he's got under all that.

Most conditioned runners aren't "fully" recovered for almost a month after a marathon. I haven't done my first marathon yet, but I am an avid runner and am training for one right now. I've done several other distances. I've seen guys try to do to much too fast all the time. Most of them end up getting hurt and some even end up with recurring overuse injury problems. He may have done well but he's lucky if he doesn't have any serious damage to his knees, feet, ankles, etc. If he had blisters that bad you can bet he's got other issues that caused more serious damage that will show up during his recovery.

I have a friend who runs around 3 marathons a year. He ran the chicago marathon last year and then showed up to a old skateboarders bbq at a skatepark right after and skated like he just woke up. Pretty crazy.

(1) I bet his balls are SO chafed.

(2) Don't you have to qualify for the LA marathon? I'm lucky I can get into the Galveston marathon, and all I have is an extra 5 lbs.

and (3) Don't most of the big marathons (and I would assume L.A. is in this category) boot you at a certain point if you are not holding a certain pace?
