Bulking up

I've been a skinny kid most of my life. I'm 25, 6'0" and weigh 165lbs.

I'm setting a goal to gain a good amount of muscle along with improving my stamina within the next year or year and a half.

Having a desk job, and sometimes working long hour, leaves me with near zero physical activity.

What kind of work out do you guys recommend along with dietary supplements?

Please feel to give as many details as possible in term of specific workout routines and general lifestyle changes.

Yep that's what I was told. When you do sets of whatever you're doing if you're not struggling to finish the last 2-3 reps in a 12 rep set then you're not lifting heavy enough.

If you're trying to bulk up you might want to look in to whey protein isolate as well. Get the stuff with as little other stuff in it as possible such as sugars, carbs or other fillers and flavorings. Take the protein shake 15 mins after your workout.

I'm actually dead serious. Lift heavy shit, eat a lot. Emphasis on the last part, since you're a skinny bastard.

You should be lifting hard, and doing so intensely. Intensity refers to how much in terms of % of your 1 rep max you're doing. If you can crank out 10+ reps, you're not lifting enough to get big.

Carry around a gallon of water when you lift. This makes you huge. Grunt a lot when you lift too, seems to help.

Crossfit. Won't get you huge but will get you in overall the best shape you've ever been in. I don't even do it all the time and just started incorporating it here and there and notice a big difference.

there is a guy exactly like that at my gym. wears his hat to the side, walks around with ankle weights, carries a gallon of water, is loud as hell and says "fuck" every 2 or 3 words. everybody in the gym hates this dude. i'm going to get some cellphone video of this dude to show you how much of a douche this he is.

I was driving west on Higgins and came to a stop at Bartlett to find 3 really old dudes with MATCHING spandex outfits with sponsor logos all over them and their guts hanging way the fuck out while barely being able to pedal their expensive looking road bikes. I rolled down the window and laughed at them but they couldn't hear me above their awesomeness.
