Beefcake!!!

Serious Protein:

Fage 0% Greek Yogurt -1 cup
+
Body Fortress 52g protein - 2 scoops
+
Skim Milk - 1 cup
+
Kashi GOLEAN - 1 cup
=

601 Calories
7g Fat
116g Protein

Taste is pretty decent.

TEXTURE IS HORRIFIC!!! Like flavored Mortar, seriously hard to swallow, let it sit in the freezer to cool it down a lot before eating and eat fast for best results.

This is the best way I've found to get lean protein in your system. If anyone has something better, please post up.

Lean is in the eye of the beholder but I sauté a bunch of diced and trimmed chicken livers in a variety of onions and other vegetables and serve it over a 1/2 and 1/2 mixture of seasoned cooked buckwheat and quinoa. Home cooked tasty meal full of protein and fiber. The nice part is with all the nutrition in that mix, you don't feel hungry for several hours Cash outlay for that is very very small for the return. Yield about 3-4 huge servings from 1lb livers ($2), half bag of buckwheat ($1.50), half box of quinoa ($3) and produce (about $2).

Everyone Exaggerates

In order to reach the protein content of what's above with just the chicken livers, you'd have 34 grams of fat and 780 calories.

The buckwheat adds a good amount of protein but at 560 calories/19g of protein it isn't worth it.

Quinoa is about 230 calories and 8g of protein, also not worth it.

That's why it's lean.

1g of protein/lb. you weigh -per-day isn't hard to attain if you're the size of Mao. When I need to intake 200-240g of pure protein, it becomes difficult to watch the cholesterol and fat intake.

No, you're a lot fatter.

Protein overkill for fat people is funny to watch. Does your body even absorb it all?

Now, work out the per serving math and you'll find it a whole lot better. 2 people ate half the meal tonight, and will have half the meal tomorrow @ lunch... so take your numbers (some of them) and divide by 4 for each meal per person. It's called eating healthy consistently, not trying to short cut it or hurry it along in an un natural way. What do you need 200-240g of pure protein a day (or per serving) for? Seriously?

Fatter yes.

High protein but 3000 calorie/day intake when you weigh 240lbs. isn't overkill when you're running 6 miles on top of a lift regimen.

Caloric excess, not protein builds fat. 610 calories in a meal is the equivalent of Footlong turkey sub with a few slices of provolone cheese... The meal listed above is equal in calories and yet is 2 grams less in terms of fat... I must be out of my mind putting that garbage in my body.

Notes taken though, I'm fat, should have cut the booze, bought a Specialized bike and posted my average speed of 52 mph to be acceptable in here.

Before you knock it, look it up guys. Was just posting a great low calorie-high protein meal, not telling you how to eat or work out.

No doubt it's low cal, high protein... I too was just posting one of the many meals that's cheap to make and packed with nutrition (not saying to eat it for every meal) with ways to get fiber, protein, and many other nutrients a body needs without having to scoop it from an expensive plastic jar.

I put on 30 lbs in the past 3 years (up to 185) and it was a direct result of the late night booze enjoyment and shit eating. I still like my sauce, but I've cut it back to 1/4 what it was and started taking the time to make meals from the edges of the store (produce, meat dept) and do regular exercise. 'Beer gut' is coming off and by eating right, I'm not feeling hungry in between meals and eat at typical times instead of feeling the need to graze throughout the day (because the body wasn't getting what it needed from the grazing). Next step, portion control... which will be hard because I happen to really like what I'm cooking oh wait... ... nah.. Granted, we're at different body needs as far as quantity goes, but like a dog... I've learned you feed to the target weight you're looking to get out of the animal (me).

I'm assuming a different protein can be substituted as Body Fortress products cause me to have gas that's already been deemed hazzardous by coworkers. Yes. This was a serious question. Thanks for a possible new 4th meal recipe.

I vow not to give up my winter time six pack for summer time 12 packs.

SD, you dragged me into this without me asking for it.

Let's face it, you have no knowledge of your body other than what little you've read on the bodybuilding forums. Who the fuck wrote that article anyways? Where are their credentials? I'm guessing they're a fucking meathead powerlifter that grunts when doing curls. Synthetic proteins derived from "food sources" have been stripped of their nutrients and then "enriched" with more synthetic "nutrients" that your body absorbs rapidly skipping essential digestive organs. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Fucking Americans and their Instant Gratification Disease.

V02 max, intervals, and sprints will increase your metabolism, and you don't need to run 6 miles a day and lift. What do I know, I'm just a skinny fucker that lost 50lbs and kept it off.

sounds interesting, might give it a try. but taste and texture wise though.... egh lol i think i'll stick 2 my egg whites, low fat cottage cheese, lean chicken breast, lean turkey breast, fruit, complex carbs and protein shakes. I'm all for lean protein but i always make things that are lean protein packed meals that taste delicious as hell. lol overall i intake about 3000ish calories a day. no more than that cuz i wanna stay at around my 185lbs and 7% bf.

its been proven, cookin eggs is better than eating them raw. so rocky had it all wrong lol ha ha seriously though, u get more easily soluble protein and cooking them like activates an enzyme essential 2 muscle growth among other things. either way though. i stay eatin eggs on the daily. except i always take out at least half of the yokes. most of the time for breakfast I eat a 5 or 6 eggs (scrambled or omlet form) but only use 2-3 yokes. eggs FTW!!

Point one about who wrote it, you're dead nuts correct.

Point two about the instant gratification, you're also dead nuts correct. It should be noted that there's a difference between loading on muscle quickly to make my fat look better and for added strength than for long term health.

Point three about metabolism, that is almost certainly true as well, but I don't want to be a skinny fucker. I weighed 195 lbs at the end of HS and looked like a twig, I don't want to get back there. I'd be happy at 220-230 lbs though with less fat... given the way the last 2 months have worked out, this high protein, lo calorie diet is working out well. I can't ride a bike 100 miles in a sitting, nor can I run a marathon, but those aren't my goals.

You're in fantastic shape now and you're happy, good on you man, those just aren't what I want to be happy. Nor what I need in my life now.

i think sd just wanted to give a heads up about something he put together dont see anything wrong with that.

imo if someone just eats a balanced diet of good foods and controls their portions thats all you need. but everyone has thier own goals, routines, and quirks. if what some people call 'obsessing' about a diet keeps an individual focused on their program, whatever. more power to them. does it really make a difference? who gives a fuck, better than sitting on the couch. props to anyone that puts in work. whether its holding to a diet or just plain doin work son!

btw sd..195lb twig you must be 8ft tall lol

splitting whites and yokes is girlie?? perhaps but i'm in great fuckin shape lol so i could care less. with the amount of eggs i go through, if i were 2 eat all the yokes i'd have my cholesterol through the roof. kinda defies the purpose of being healthy no??? just sayin.....
