Warrior Dash 2012

Just signed up for Saturday June 16 at 3:30pm. Anybody else plan on doing this? I was surprised how many timeslots have filled up already, I already missed out on a group from work doing the 10:00am start.

Yup. 2011 either. A bunch of lazy fuggers were in my wave that were supposed to be in earlier waves. BTW, the earlier waves are less muddy if you are going for a decent time. I encountered people STILL on the rope climbs from the wave a half hour before me too.

I talk to the guy at the gym today who had Spartan Race t-shirt (navy soldier)
and he said Spartan Race is harder than the Warrior dash but he also said the MudRun is the challenge to go to.

Warrior dash definitely strikes me as the beginner friendly, something to do with your drinking buddy and/or out of shape friend race. Just an impression as i've yet to do one. I'd be interested in similar races with bigger challenges though. Spartan race in october has potential, will have to look into the mudrun. Been training a lot to improve general fitness and a couple of these a year would be a fun way to challenge myself and supplement mtb racing. Variety is good, and i love getting dirty!

That's exactly what it is. It's a big party, with a few interesting aspects and a 3 mile run. No biggie. If the Spartan race didn't have ice water, I would be very interested in doing that.

I did the Warrior Dash in Wisconsin last year. It was September and perfect weather...not too hot like it probably will be in June.

It was a great experience. Some of the obstacles weren't much but others were more challenging...especially when you and a ton of other people are trying to complete them at the same time. The costumes many people wear during the event are entertaining and hilarious. And my time for the event was way better than I anticipated it would be!

Underdog, Moto178, and I are doing it on the 17th. I think we're a 3:30 or 4pm time slot. We're shopping for loincloths and mexican wrestler masks.

Doing this with a few friends out in Iowa this year. They wanted me to sign up for the Tough Mudder as well, but I have absolutely no interest in training to run 10-12 miles. I did that shit back in high school on cross country before it was a fad like it is now
