Who is racing what this year?

My very first tri will be the Sprint in Galena (May).
Tour de Farms (June) (non-tri related, but a 2 Day, 200 mile ride)

My first is the sprint in Batavia in June.
Springfield tri in July - Not sure if I'll do sprint or full.
Chicago tri in August - Olympic distance

I will be racing almost every weekend this year. A lot depends on my kid's schedule right now, but I'm already entered for Racine 70.3 and Lake in the Hills sprint. I'll also do Bigfoot, Jayhawk, Sylvania, and possibly Chicago. And a mess of Xterras too.

I'll be doing the Palos half marathon and Racine 70.3 for sure. Probably Naperville Sprint and a handfull of other races here and there if I have time for them.

Everything for me is up in the air, whatever I can squeeze in and afford. I'd like to do bigfoot if possible but if nothing else, like a true "serious group rider" I will have plenty of group rides that will serve as the main event.

For me, I only have Racine 70.3 planned.
I hope to add more, but I am also trying to race a national series with USGPRU... And a 600 with ASRA.

I am going to sleep well next winter!

Looks like I may be entering Leon's triathlon this year too. Might be racing for Sammy's bike shop in St. Charles for this race. We'll see...

Original race plans have gone out the window. Finally managed to sign up for race and I'm essentially starting from scratch (again, hooray consistency).

Signed up for the Oly distance Lake Geneva Race in September.

I'll probably do that one too. That's a tough race just so you know. Super hilly.

There is a hill on that run course that you have to stutter step like you are on stairs it is so steep. Hardest run I've done.

Lake in the Hills triathlon yesterday. Here is the bike course, which has some decent hills on it. Wound up 4th age group, of course just off the podium, and I saw my spot just slowly run away from me starting at mile 2 out of 4. Man that pisses me off. He a good gap on the swim and even bigger on the bike, just to throw it away in the run. Pace was still 7:37, but man these fools can run. Bike pace jumped up a bit with the same wattage at Leon's, so maybe it was the wind or course that day. I actually was in front of everybody on the start of the swim up to the first buoy. I thought I got lost. Fun race though, and a great one to be your first if you are thinking of doing one next year.

Hey PatFirz...you win the Batavia Tri this weekend?

Is there something wrong with riding your tri out in the cornfields and letting me be able to drive through my neighborhood?

I was only a half hour from the winner overall time was 1:35 with about 7 minutes worth of transitions. I'm happy with my time (I knew my transitions would be slow). I definitely need to work on my open water swim for the full length.

congrats.

Let's hit up Ohio soon. I haven't even seen a pool since last year and could use a workout.

I'm in. I might buy a wetsuit. I immediately felt a difference in the buoyancy. My swim was faster, but that was mostly adrenaline.
