+3 to 44 total. And my average HR continues to drop. Since the beginning of the year I have lost about 10 BPM in my pace, meaning I'm getting more efficient running and gaining fitness. These newfangled computer thingies really work.

Sure beats Ricks Sun dial or is that only used on his bike?

and let me tell you it was 102 effing degrees in this hellhole city. That was as hard a run as I've ever had and I did it entirely in the SHADE. Yeah, back and forth along a .5 mi stretch that is completely covered. It was boring as hell, and hard. Winter can't come fast enough.

The mornings, when it's "cooler" (88 deg or so) it's about 85% humidity. It will drop to about 50% in the afternoon when all the morning wetness burns off, but then it's climbed to 100 deg so anything you gain in dryness is lost to horrendous heat. It's a nightmare get me out of here!

Do you find yourself taking the racing line when you run around corners?

too funny...I have actually thought about that more than once when out on a run...but like the roads in IL, most places I run also have few curves

with GPS tracking now though we can't really cheat by "cutting corners" on our distance ...although the EndoMondo app on my iPhone is always more generous (wrong) when compared to the measured course or my Garmin (on my run this morning EndoMondo said it was 6.44 miles while Garmin said 6.25 which is correct)

I was using an ANT+ footpod system that was pretty accurate for a few years but started to degrade over time, and it was cutting my distances short; it only ended up hurting me. When I finally had to run an actual distance at pace, I couldn't do it. I was pissed. Garmin fixed that.
