MTB BIKE: DEER GROVE 8/18 6pm

Here's the information I've found for the ride at Deer Grove on Wednesdays.

As posted on the CAMBR website:
Ride will probably be 1.5 - 2 hrs. We usually have 2-3 groups. One really fast, one more moderately paced, and a new womens group is starting to form as well. With the exception of the fast group we drop no one. All in all it's a really fun group of MTBers. Feel free to come out and introduce youself.

Directions:
Take Hwy 53 North into Palentine. Exit on Dundee road and head west. At Quinten Road turn north (right) and they meet in a U shaped parking lot on the right about a 1/2 mile north of Dundee. The parking lot is called Camp Reinberg.

The ride leaves at 6pm sharp so you might want to get there a little earlier.

I have a post up at CAMBR to verify that this ride is on for the 18th. But even if it's not, let's go and figure the trail out.

Here's a pic of the trail.

Hope to see you there!

btw, the Stadium Club is just down the street for after the ride

Yeah, there's a women's mtb group that meets on Wednesdays (although I sure didn't see them out there...) at Palos...been meaning to check that out.

Anyway, I'll miss Strats again and BE THERE!

This place has some great single track, but the problem is, it's hard to find them... So going with this group who actually KNOWS the trail system will be a GREAT time!!!

And hittin' Stadium Club afterwards is MANDATORY! That's one of my favorite bars...

Jeff, the entrance isn't shown on the map. Just follow the directions I posted above to the parking lot. If anything changes about the exact location I'll post up. I have a message into all the riders of the group. They seem pretty cool.

Btw, beware of the Gnomes!

And how do you like your rice puddin?

I have a message into the group that rides here weekly on whether or not the ride is still on for tonight due to recent and upcoming weather.

I'll keep you posted.

Sounds like DG didn't get a drop of rain yesterday, but some is expected today. I'll keep my eye on the the weather and some locals in that area who are riding this morning too and I'll keep this thread updated.

The ride was good. The pace was great. The trials are ok, a bit of a maze. The people were a lot of fun.

This trail will take me a few times to memorize so bear with me.

Cailin I apologize for getting there right at 6. Looks like you found a home with a few female rides though.

The ride got interesting once a few sprinkles came down. Wood, wet, and rubber just don't mix well. At one point we were riding along a ravine and a rider's front wheel slipped on a root. He went air borne into the ravinve.....Oh yeah the ravine was all mud. I so wished a had my camera with me. He sunk in really good and was quite crusty afterwards

I'm looking forward to riding with this group again.

Chris, we would SO love to have you...Ken came last week and was totally pumped and had a great time.

Grasshopper tried it for the first time on Sunday and LOVED it and thanked us for introducing him to his new sport.

I think you'll find you got some skills out there...We just love bein' on 2 wheels, no matter what the conveyance...Plus the scenery is unbelievable, and on a mountain bike, you have time to enjoy it.
