My motivation to work out? I go to watch/look at the hotties and try to get their number.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

Yeah that goes for me too.

However, what started it off, was that I saw a guy that was fit, but not bulky. It seems that we see too many huge muscle guys ie. wrestlers, movie guys, buzbyou that our society pushes and that look has always turned me off, and it takes a lot of work to acheive that. So when I saw a slimmer trimmer version, I thought that it looked good, and was achievable, and no, not the strung out on heroin look.

Originally it was for power when I was a powerlifter. Felt good to do weights more than anyone else in the gym.

Now it's for a similar reason as I don't smoke...the normal health aspect of it. 30-60 mins a day to not end up like the people in my office. Because I look at 90% of the people in cubicles and all they look like is veal that is being fattened up. It almost brings a certain fear or disgust which I'm almost sad to admit.

And if you wanna quit smoking, get a job at my office. Since one of our companies sells tobacco, we are a fully 100% smoking environment...anywhere and everywhere in the building except my server room. Just seeing the sickness, coughing, gagging, and filth floating around is enough to get anyone who's thinking about smoking to not do it.

That's crazy, I didn't know even tabacco related companies would do that.

I can't stand feeling fat. I love eht energy and feelign of being lean. Nothing like runnig up 2 or 3 flights of stairs and you legs still feel fresh, your not breathing hard and your heart rate only jumped up 20 beats or less.

.. or sitting down at work or at home and realizing that your even barely breathing because your cardio system is so effecient.

... jsut knowing that in an emergency you could run 2 miles flat out in under 12 minutes... or swim over 3 miles to shore.

I've lost 9 lbs. since the beginnign of the year and already feel a lot better for it. I have 21 lbs left ot reach my year end target. I'm trying to average losing 1 lb per week until it's gone... then after I reach my goal, try to trim another 5 lbs over the following year.

Oh yeah, pulling +7/ -4 G's gets harder as ya get older.

I really like that last one.

My motivation is the track! I want to be sure that my physical condition is not holding me back. I want to be in shape to take full advantage of every minute of track time. And for safety... You make more mistakes when you're tired. I don't feel I can afford to miss any opportunities to help keep myself safe out there.

I want to do that Advanced Only day at the Autobohn. It's an open track all day. I want to be in good enough shape to handle it. I just hope I can stay motivated all the way until then. I've got a good start over the winter, but once the track season and good weather start up, there will be many good reasons to slack off.

My last Army PT score

If I don't work out several times a week, I can't sleep good. My body isn't physically tired enough to sleep. Probably would help to lay off the coffee too.

Also, contrary to what you folks think, I do got a bit of a gut. Need to wear it off so I can fit into the jeans easier.

My motivation is my weight.

I've put on a few pounds over the holidays and even with my new custom fitted leathers, I'm affraid I'm going to be a lot slower this year.

I work out for a bunch of reasons:

-I feel so much more relaxed and have a better outlook after I work out.

-I like the way I look being in shape, as does my girlfriend.

-I want to climb a mountain so I need to be in EXTREMELY good shape to do that.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Jay,

If you do not start now it will be 100 times harder when you get a family and kids. Ask me how do I know this

I used to run 20K just for fun. I held a first place in my highschool, now I am strugling majorly to run a mile. I had a big crash long time ago that put me out of comision(sp) for two years. After that i never really got back. Now I am forcing my self to do it regulary and it is extreamly hard after such a long break. Why didn't someone tell me how hard it will be?
